Am I always supposed to be underleveled?

I am just entering House of Bones which is lvl 20 but im 13 right now having mostly killed whats in my path if I can.

Try to explore areas not marked for the mission, they give good loot and good exp.

I am finding the game is limited in how you play, its essentially a stealth game or you will find the balance is terrible sadly, still i am no pro though.

Yeah, I am having the same problem. I have managed to sneak past to the house of bones, while I was lvl 8 and then, at some point it became impossible to proceed without avoiding an encounter, which I obviously cannot win. I am quite confused now. Am I just suppose to roam around and do some random ♥♥♥♥ until I reach lvl 20?

But you cant do that because Ive killed everything that was around my level in every area and I'm still only 13. I have read you are supposed to draw out 1 person at a time for this area but I find it impossible. Probably drop the game here as much as I love it.

Update, I have wiped out every scum in every single location up to the house of bones. Well, except the two 55lvl bastards you find near the metal bird. That got me to lvl 18. I guess I am ready to storm the house of bones now. Anyways, as far as I can tell, there is no other way of proceeding. You gotta be sneaky, but still you just need to take out everyone that stands in your way, no exceptions. Otherwise you'll be no match for the enemies further up ahead.

I'm facing the same issue, tried a few times but it just seems impossible for me to beat it right now. I'm lvl 15 but I only have one smoke grenade and one healing pack. It's a tad annoying that the only legit tactic seems to be to draw out singles if possible.

There are enough encounters before the house of bones to get you leveled up. You just have to be smart on how to approach them. They call you a stalker, so act like one. Be patient. Pick your battles. Study movement patterns. Pick off isolated enemies. Fairly early in the game you'll be able to equip everyone with a stealth weapon. Any investments in them are going to help you. Borin has the Hog Rush ability which can help you with the tougher enemies.

It is by no means an easy game and it may take some time to adjust, but the story is great. You just need to get the hang of it. And scout...

Not only is it not easy, it gives the impression that you might be able to invest in those noisy weapons and do well. Maybe that would work on the lowest difficulty but, on the two harder ones, you've GOT to pick off enemies with stealth - and I don't just mean the one or two under-levelled wanderers. Once those big bangs start going off, there better not be more of them then there are of you.

Same problem. House of Bones is full of enemies which are red-skulled and it's impossible to beat them without me trying to grind and farm around the map.

I really liked the game, but this type of things just ruined the fun for me. You can't force me to play a tactical game like this one, the way you want me to play it. I don't want to roam around, try to farm as much as exp as I can, just so I can beat a freaking almost beginner level of the game.

That's not hard, thats not tactical, thats tedious, boring and stupid kind of "hard".

I think I'll just leave the game here and not proceed any further. It killed all the joy for me.

Also, like, as long as you are NOT IN a circle the enemies have, but your teammates are, you can go and walk as much as you can, teammates -> they can literally be 2 meters in their face, but as long as YOU are not in the circle, it's all good and fine, lol

Just too many smaller and bigger problems that killed the fun for me. I expected so much more.

ive reached level 31 and im finding its still the same, stealth to kill anything that we can focus fire on in one round, then hope there arnt too many guys that'll take multiple turns to put down.

but yeah i feel like this game is poorly balanced and anyone that says the game would be too easy if we could have more than 3 active characters in a squad is wrong, it would give you more of a chance and more options
