Worth getting?

I'm thinking about either buying this or Chris Sawyer's Locomotion. I already have locomotion on gog but want to get it on steam so I can play multiplayer with my friend because GOG versions can't play together due to duplicate keys.

I'm a huge Transport Tycoon and recently Train Fever fan. Would I enjoy this? Also, will it run on windows 8.1 as that's what my laptop that I'd like to play on has.

Locomotion is a for the most part a re-skinned OpenTTD put on Steam... This Railroads,

Its Ok if do not mind a quick skirmish competition race as the replayability gets very limited... plus the fact that trying to make depot station is meticously challenging if want more then one dock... No Waypoint tasking... No additional RoundHouse... etc etc, also signals are complete trash.

Fun if make absurd rails running at 5% grade thru mountains across open planes 1000feet off the ground, loses its actual challenge even against AI on Baron Difficulty IMO

This is a good time-wasting game. Most games last less than 2 hours. This game was designed to be a more "casual" multi-player version of Railroad Tycoon. I love playing this game while listening to a new album.

For me this game is better than locomotion - easier to make tracks, AI is strong enough - 1vs1 on hardest difficulty take me ong time to beat. Graphic is much better.
