HOW TO play MULTIPLAYER via Steam?

Hi, I just bought this game hoping I can play a multiplayer with my buddy. Unfortunatelly I´m not able to. Is it even possible anymore? And if not, could you send me some tutorial how to start a multiplayer game via hamachi or something please?

You can use Gameranger, Tunngle or Hamachi. Then you can create and join games in LAN mode.

I just have to awnser on this one. I tried with a friend of mine to play this multiplayer. We tried it via Hamachi and Gameranger. I forwarded all ports mentioned by 2K (http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/201333873-Ports-required-for-multiplayer-Sid-Meier-s-Railroads) but my friend can't find my lobby in LAN. What might I still do wrong?

Are you able to find each other via Hamachi / Gameranger for chat? If no, then there's a configurationproblem on softwareside.
I am using VPN connections within Windows / Router so i don't need this hamachi-stuff.
You have to check, that the ip range of your local area network is NOT the same es the ip range of your target.
For example:
At home you're using 192.168.0.0-255 (/24) and your friend is using 192.168.1.0-255 (/24). This would work, because the vpn adress of your friend would be locally translated to 192.168.0.x
If you have both the same range, it would NOT work, because you would experience ip conflicts (double assigned).

Mostly firewall on the os or missing portforwarding within the router (doublecheck, which ports have to forwarded and the protocol (tcp / udp / gre))

Thanks a lot man, I set up my PC again lately and completely forgot to do all that Hamachi stuff. Works now!

I'm having issues wiht a buddy of mine. we can't seem to connect. he was at a coffee shop. will try other ppl later.

still looking for some help. would be much appreciated.

we are using gameranger and the lobby doesn't seem to show up in the lan section. what can we do to get around this?

I had also tried with my brother we both couldnt see eachothers games on gameranger, but only one of us were able to a random in game at a time, lol.

We might give it another go with some ports forwarded.
