@ Angels... Make it a mod and we can download the file. That way peeps can also review it, and share it. If you got a fix, to auto, fix... we need it. :) Thanks

Why havent we thought of this before 0.o
When you use the 3 GB enabler is tricky and wont work unless you do 2 things. One look for on google sidmeiersrailroadsshot 110.zip if you have the 1.10 patch or any patch fix most will work then copy the Railroads.exe to your desktop then unzip your 3 GB enabler on your desktop and then run program after it does its job reat the text file for it as there are several exe with it because each has a diff windows such as Windows XP windows Vista and Windows 7 then run exe screen pops up for a sec if you have win 8 or higher run the Windows XP SECOND rename the exe file and name it Railroads 3GB.exe then cut and past back into the file and as i have windows 8.1 i set my compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) then set it as Administer then it should work no problems but if you uninstall the game delete the file in documents My Games\Sid Meiers railroads folder then delete your modded 3 GB exe and after you reinstall repeat the process or it wont work at all but after thall that it should be working mods and all. look up Any Mods? for how to install train mods and the Tenders on this site for this game as i left detailed instruction as of why wont it work and how to fix it.
If anyone is still having a crash issue let me know then ill post an explanation here on how to make it 100% crash free ive had this game since it first came out i know a few tricks.

I bought this game back in 2007. I never could get this game crash free. I had it crash less with the fixes out there but never crash free. I got tired of it and removed it from the HDD and decided to wait for a new rail game. The sad thing is I'm still waiting. :(

uninstall your game. next delete the game files in your documents then install again but its better off of steam still duable on steam but more complex. next reinstall the game then install the fixxed version of th 1.10 patch. Copy your railroads.exe file then use the 3GB enabler. may have to look around as there are a few different ones. then find a Railroads.exe online no cd exe i found it by google. after that overwrite the exe that you copied with the new exe no cd exe and then put the 3 GB enabler and rename it Railroads3GB.exe. cut your original exe and place it in a safe place then cut your new exe and past where old exe was cut from. that should be it. if your trying to run a map i can help with getting it to work. The last step is go to properties by right clicking Railroads3GB.exe then put compatability for windows 7 and higher set on Windows XP (service pack 3) and run it as your administer it should run flawlessly now for just the original game i have quite a few mods on mine and it works fine. i can run 8 tracks through one town as i tested a theory but one thing to keep in mind is if you get far enough in your game and track is virtually everywhere long track will cause it to freeze for 5 min more or less but will continue to work after the track is laid.

Well my first game went well. I used a mod and played for over 3 hours with no crashes. :) I'm one happy camper I have missed my rail games.
just remember if the Railroads3GB.exe stops working after a mod or whatever you will have to delete that exe and then make it again as it resets that way to work with a new mod. I know this game inside and out its fineky

Damn yeh you just start getting into it and then ... crash :sfsad:
its ok though im working on perfecting SMRI when im done it already comes with all train, train car, buildings, and pretty much every mod that was made for this game. Im working on getting them flawless with the game interface so not only will it be a bigger and better game but it will also work as it should have to begin with. the original problem with the game crash is they rushed the game out and because they had the game crash issue they lost alot of business and smri also was just thrown together and put out there so if i can manage to make everything work together this game even though its old will seem like a new game and get a much bigger fan base and after that the company just might make a sequel to it because of the growing fan base. thats my hope anyways if not then i made a good game better.

It's something to do with when the game was developed it couldn't use more than 2 gb of ram. The 3gb patch only works for so long, eventually your game gets so big, even that doesnt work anymore. I have trouble playing a game right through to the bitter end and it is frustrating.
