Can SM Railroads Operate On Windows 10?

Hi all. Please forgive me since I'm guessing this has been covered before. However, I'm not the best with computer jargon.

I have a Windows 10 laptop with I believe 6 GB of Ram, so I keep seeing the crashing issues with any machine over 3 GB. However, most of those complaints I am seeing are with Windows 7 operating systems.

Did Windows 10's feature of backwards compatibility solve the crash problems with this game?

The crash problem affects all operating systems, however there is a very simple solution: http://steamcommunity.com/app/7600/discussions/0/35221584409498211/
If you are unable to follow simple text instructions, there is even a video version in there (near the end of the replies).
And if even that doesn't solve them, just ask for help, or you can just request a refund from Steam (I believe they automaticly refund you within 14 days of purchase, provided you haven't spent more than 2 hours with the game running)

the game autosaves so frequently that i simply loaded the autosave, but the crashing seems less frequent when you play at a more difficult setting

Yes it will play on Win 10, However all problems reported elsewhere still apply. Crashing, etc.

I'm lucky... No problems on Win10 with highest settings...

Geforce GTX 960M 4GB and DX12

But on my other computer with Win7, it isn't working...

If you guys happen to have a Mac it seems it is available for macOS now. I have found that it is more stable then trying to play it on Windows 10.

Hi Guys, no problem playing it on Windows 10 x64, 1920x1080. But in windowed mode, otherwise the cursor vanishes. And I used the menory fix by Nulano with the link above in this discussion.

I was able to enjoy the game for a few hours last month when I bought the game and now I no longer can run it because of the error:

It seems now Windows 10 is intentionally forbidden. Maybe because of sporadical crashes, but this is not a problem for me.
Maybe somebody knows a way to bypass the OS check.
