Sid Meier's Railroads! Release Information

1.2 - December 18th 2018

• Uses the Metal graphics API instead of OpenGL.
  
• Updates the game from 32-bit to 64-bit.
  
• Fixes a number of minor issues.

PRE 10.14 USERS:
Players using a version of OS X before 10.14 can access a compatible version of the game via the Beta tab in the game’s properties window. Select the ‘mac_retail_111 - macOS 10.13.6 or older only' branch for a version that is compatible with 10.12.4 up to 10.13.6.

• Fixes a bug which caused the AI to not sell stock when low on money
  
• Fixes an occasional crash on launch

I jut in stalled the game om my mack book pro mid 2010 and i can start a game but i get a min in to a game and it crashes and restarts the computer. Do you know of any way to fix this.

The latest update for the game increased the OS requirement to 10.14. If you do not intend to update to the latest version of macOS, please install the previous version as follows :


1. Launch Steam.
2. Right click the game in your Steam Library.
3. In the dropdown that appears, select Properties.
4. In the new window that appears, select the Betas tab.
5. In the Betas tab, click the dropdown and select ‘mac_retail_111 - macOS 10.13.6 or older only'
6. The game will update.

I am using Mac OS 10.15.4 on a Macmini7,1 and as soon as I try to start the game it crashes.

Hi guys the crossplatform multiplayer mode between MAC and PC doesnt seem like working. If we open the LAN multiplayer mode we cant see each other, and on MAC there is no Internet option. Can you please help me?

Hi maczonkaidaniel,

The macOS version of this game only has LAN support for multiplayer. This means you would need to be on the same local network in order to play together.

You will also both need to be playing on Mac's in order to play together as well.

We hope this helps explain the situation.

Suggestion: Make a New game as in a new Sid Miers Railroads.
Yes i know you guys do a lot of game genres but id love to see a new Sid Miers Railroads or Sid Miers Railroad Tycoon with more modern graphics and more realistic looking engines.
Maybe Every Steamer would get its Tender Finaly.
Maybe you would be able to have more cars.
maybe we would get more engines which were abandoned in Railroad Tycoon 2 and 3 *They have so many engines nowhere else in the genre its insane*

If your in contact with 2K id love to see you forward this to them as the comunity about this Series is alive, kicking and eager for another game to rebirth the series into the 2020s decade.
