Odd, to me the graphics look the opposite of vivid, I find it rather grey and washed out.
Maybe I just got used to HDR, which is unuseable here, not sure, but I feel everything lacks contrast.
A part of that may also be the super low shadow quality. No matter how many times I drive it, I keep getting surprised by the logo on Oulton Park bridge peeling itself out of the shadow-mud.
Imo in the graphics department MS really need to fix shadows and/or add a setting for shadow distance.
Textures are a mixed bag imo. Some tracks look really good, some seem to use outdated textures from previous releases. And someone please paint some fake shadows on the spectator billboards. ;)
It's not well optimized AND the graphical performance is poor… regardless of hardware. That's the point.
Ride 3 would be amazing for $25 or if this was released 18 months ago. I refunded.
What?
Even with an old Xeon and a GTX 1070 and 16 GB DDR3 this game runs @ 1080p and max settings at 100 fps. o_O
The game is well optimized.
For better graphics and less blurr:
Antialiasing OFF
Depth of Field OFF
Motion Blurr OFF
After that it looks like Ride 2.

Framerate was not an issue with a 6700k 32gb ddr4 and 1080ti maxed at 1440p. I say it's not well optimized, because my gpu usage wasn’t pegged at 100% (like it should always be) and cpu usage never passed 40%. If a GPU is below 100% usage and there’s no cpu bottleneck, then that is poor optimization. The graphics were okay, but by no means outstanding. (even if it is a lot better than Ride 2)
Ultimately, I refunded because Ride 2 physics are better and that’s really saying something.
Time to rebuy it ;-)
I think what we got is pretty much the xbox one X version, just that on PC we can have both quality and performance together, with a halfway decent system.
Ride 3 looks nice enough to me, but it is a pitty they make zero use of what a good system could do. I already said it before, but please at least let us increase the shadow distance / quality by distance. And maybe make Ambient Occlusion noticeable, I know there is a setting for it, but somehow it looks like it`s always off.
