You shouldn't need to deactivate anything; we completely revamped our input system in the latest updates, it should work out of the box.

Try setting everything back to its defaults, including the Steam Input. With only the Keyboard and Mouse plugged, open the game to try it. You mentioned that you can get past the Press Any Key Dialogue, you should be able to then use the mouse on the Main Menu.
PreCurSeuR™
You can also get past the "Press Any Key Dialogue"? Please elaborate.
Both of you, please confirm which version is listed in your Title Screen. Also, just to be sure, can you confirm that you are playing the steam build? We've had situations before when that was not the case, hence the question.
Screenshot, if you prefer.
As I wrote above, I already tried to play with just mouse and keyboard. Everything is on standard, no change. After the "Press Any Key" there is nothing I can do, I don't even have a mouse cursor. The second button push I discribed in the head text is now also not possible anymore.
Thanks for confirming it. That is very odd indeed, not really sure what we can do to debug this problem. It could very well be related to input steam configuration.
Please check(show us) what you have here( right click on the game, properties.

Is there anything else unique to your PC? Do you have another machine you can try it on?
-Does it work in windowed mode? (Alt+Enter)
-How many screens and what resolution?
-Are you on Windows 10?
-Do you use any custom/beta graphics drivers?
-Do you have any type of input related software? Gaming mouse apps or remap utilities.
We'd appreciate it if you could send us the game log so we can check for any possible hints.
Should be located under: "Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Amplify Creations\Decay of Logos\output_log.txt"
While you're there, you can also try to delete the game's own config file.

Looking forward to your reply, hope we can find a solution.
Not sure how the screenshot sharing works here on steam, but the controller setting in the game properties is set on "default" and the only box ticked in general controller setting is "guide button opens steam".
-The problem does not change in window mode
-I have one screen with a 3840x2160 resolution, but I would turn it down to 2560x1440 ingame, if i could reach the options (highest resolution for 60hz support on my screen)
-Yes, I have Windows 10
-I use the latest official NVIDIA driver for my graphic card, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970
-No extra or special apps, no input remap
Where should I send my output_log.txt to?
I deleted the .dat file, but nothing changed.
Thanks for elaborating. Please send the file to info@decayoflogos.com, we'll have a look asap.
Thanks for reaching out via email. We're a bit puzzled by this, unfortunately the log does not contain any clues to what could be happening.
Do you happen to have any other open hub/store apps open such GOG or Origin, or anything else? Even if just loaded in your system tray, wondering if there could be some kind of unexpected conflict.
Thanks!
I tried to start without the controller plugged in, but mouse and keyboard did not work in the menus after the "Press any key" prompt.
Wow, it's even weirder that it actually ran once and stopped there; very unusual. Thanks for the details, I'll pass it on to the devs.
At this point I'd probably recommend refunding the game, I'm not entirely sure if we can track this one down.
I would request that you try to get into the game again and send us the log as soon as it stops working after attempting to control the protagonist.
Apologies for the inconvenience, definitely not the experience we wish you had.
After like 30 seconds the controller stopped working again. I'm sending you the new log file now.
This is the only game I own with this input problem. I will wait until you checked the new file. If there is no possibility for a solution, then I will refund. Until then I will try to help.
I haven't even "played" for 30 minutes so steam will likely do the refund.
