Buying a sickle from the blacksmith

First, just wanted to point out that I /think/ it was a scythe (Edit: It was actually a sickle, oops.). I went to the mine to get the blacksmith the ore he needed for making the tool, and I got it. It didn't say the quest was complete but I just thought it was because I hadn't talken to Father yet. Once I got to the farm with the sickle, he didn't have anything to say about it. Now I'm just stuck with a sicklein my inventory. I'm twelve at the moment in the game if it helps any, and it was a little late when I gave the blacksmith the ore and when I talked to the father.

Well you have a scyth now and can equip it.
Same as you can use the tin bucket you were sent to buy.
Those are your items now to keep.

you dont neccesarily buy the scythe, you just sort of make it for the blacksmith then he gives it to you. then you get to keep it

The blacksmith gives you the mould for the scythe. You have to craft the actual tool yourself in order to complete the quest.

I was doing it for a quest and when I did get it, the quest didn't go through.

If it helps, I was mistaken, it's a sickle. Also, it was not a mold, I checked.

Like the quest didnt complete at all even after you got the ore, crafted the sickle, and then gave it to the blacksmith to look at?

I didn't craft it. The quest was to give him the ore and he would make the sickle for me.

uhhh nope for me you had to make it yourself, then confirm it with him and then it should be done

you have to build it yourself there's an anvil below the blacksmith, u have to interact with it and then just build it,

the sickle mould looks the same as the actual sickle. maybe they havent made a graphic to replace the mould in inventory yet. but once the mould is used to make the sickle this task can be completed.
