Paranormal Quests are Terrible
The only way to solve them, it seems, is to do things that would actively ruin relationships you've built. Why on earth would I waste my time (and by extension, gifts!) with quests like these?! Villagers lose an entire heart when you hit them! ;-;

To mitigate the downsides:

a) collect the quests: hitting one villager/giving one bad gift counts for all the quests.

b) when getting the one with the bad gifts: give the gift to the quest giver. At least the loss will be offset by the gain for turning in the quest.

c) you get plenty of quests. There is nothing wrong with ignoring/deleting these ones. Alternatively wait, until you are farther along with the game, eventually loosing a bit of relationship won't matter as much.

The gifts one isn't so bad, but the one where you have to hit villagers with the slingshot is atrocious. That's -10 hearts for *maybe* +1 heart for one villager. Like.. what??

Hit them while they sleep and try it on other targets. You don't have to do the task though.
