Your First Marriage Partner?
I'm still getting my footing after the prologue and have played long enough to buy my first chicken. ^^

For some reason, aging info is a tad hard to find, but apparently we age a year after every season? Which case, I guess I should look for a partner. So my questions are; who were your first spouses, and are there any consequences for marrying someone who owns a shop like Melanie Jugg?

We age a year each year, NPCs too.
The only case when you age faster is when you buy things from mr Fairweather or die - then on the last night of winter you will add whatewer number of years you owed him and this time will pass in game world, just like it did when you made your first deal with him in tutorial.

My favourite first spouse is Ash Brown - he has really good trait to pass on to children, when he moves out of his house it becomes empty and lets someone else live there, he is not super ugly and his personality is ok.

As for NPCs owning a shop idk, but since the game ensures shops are manned by usually spawn a replacement NPCs to work instead, maybe with marriage it will work the same.

I actually married Melanie. Melanie no longer worked in the tavern and her father found someone else to stick with the work. Might be a tad different from someone who owns a buyable shop, but I don't think so.

Why Melanie? She loves milk, milk is easy to come by and she can be found easily.

I married the blacksmith from the first town since I had a lot of strawberries (he likes them). A new NPC moved into town and took up the blacksmithing job. Funny part is that the new NPC even moved in with the former roommate.

They weren't roommates. lol The game just doesn't care about the marital status of any NPC if you choose to date them. :DSTskull:

I picked Melanie for my first spouse. Decent stats and pretty. The game generated a new NPC named Luna Double-Barrel to take her spot in the tavern and in her father's house.
I do not want to make Luna Double-Barrel angry, especially if she owns her namesake somewhere. xD

Tbh, I like the freedom we get in this game, and not just with the spouses. Definitely a purchase that made me happy. :3

I married Raven Loon, because I think she looks cool. I didn't know you could pass on traits
to your heir though. I didn't even look at her stats! I just based it on her looks. lmao.

I unlocked every bit of the map, minus 2-3 areas in the first year. Tbh, there isn't much for me to do, and my char is still very young even after *ahem* making deals with the family devil. :(
