A. Offerings in the bowl give minor buffs for minor offerings, with no curses / drawbacks if you don't make an offering
B. Buffs are more significant but require either very specific or high quality / hard-to-acquire items (or those that require multiple items to make), still no penalty for not offering
C. Mix between the two? Start off with mild buffs for mild assistance, and the more you use the bowl, you 'level up' the brounie buffs and get stronger effects, but the offering standards increase too. Possible side effect of making the brounies 'expect' offerings and thus suffering a minor-to-moderate penalty when / if you stop offerings after an extended period of providing them
The Brounie bowl needed you to come back to the farm every single day (from what I understood) and I find myself not returning for a day or two most of the time. Not returning every day is a big incentive for marriage & family to take care of the farm, so that's great in my opinion. If they could be assigned to manage the Brounie bowl or something like, provide enough quality gifts for enough days and you'll get a boon of some kind, that would be good, but punishment for not being there was no good.
Maybe if you neglect him long enough, parts of your now-buildable house could deteriorate to the point of needing to fix them like other broken buildings? Since he'd be neglecting the cleaning/upkeep of the house?
Here's what I am annoyed about: Pott is still around, and I don't get to smack him for his annoying snark whenever I accidentally click on him. Seriously, PixelCount has touted that they're primarily made of Fable veterans, and I can punch children in that game, so what gives? I mean, I could probably hit him with the slingshot, but that runs the risk of accidentally hitting one of my fruit plants on a non-optimal day or - worse-yet - one of my beloved animals.
