Big Build and Brounie Bowl
Just wanted a place for people to shout out whether they liked the brounie bowl and the offerings and to hopefully voice that we would like it to stay. I noticed there's no sign of the bowl in the big build experimental and wanted to try and see how many people liked the feature.

Rather than removing the functionality entirely, I would prefer its use and rules were made more clear in a tutorial.

I could see why you would want it. To be honest I would forget about it. Maybe they could make it option in gameplay.

I wouldn't mind seeing its return, especially since the presence of Goddess Day offerings has kind of taken a back seat and it could give a more regular form of assistance, but I wouldn't want it back the same as before. It would need to change; I have ideas in one of three ways:

A. Offerings in the bowl give minor buffs for minor offerings, with no curses / drawbacks if you don't make an offering

B. Buffs are more significant but require either very specific or high quality / hard-to-acquire items (or those that require multiple items to make), still no penalty for not offering

C. Mix between the two? Start off with mild buffs for mild assistance, and the more you use the bowl, you 'level up' the brounie buffs and get stronger effects, but the offering standards increase too. Possible side effect of making the brounies 'expect' offerings and thus suffering a minor-to-moderate penalty when / if you stop offerings after an extended period of providing them

I hated the brounie bowl, but would be happy to see it utilized in a different/similar mechanic somehow

I'm sorry, I think I didn't quite iterate how much I REALLY hated the brounie bowls. I'm so glad they're gone, they caused me such anxiety. LOVE the update and the inclusion of little jokes about brounies

Lol, yeah I also didn't like the Brounie bowl, but I think it could be changed and put back in. I enjoyed the change to the Goddess Statue offerings too, and I think they both addressed a similar "nagging chore" issue.

The Brounie bowl needed you to come back to the farm every single day (from what I understood) and I find myself not returning for a day or two most of the time. Not returning every day is a big incentive for marriage & family to take care of the farm, so that's great in my opinion. If they could be assigned to manage the Brounie bowl or something like, provide enough quality gifts for enough days and you'll get a boon of some kind, that would be good, but punishment for not being there was no good.

Maybe if you neglect him long enough, parts of your now-buildable house could deteriorate to the point of needing to fix them like other broken buildings? Since he'd be neglecting the cleaning/upkeep of the house?

I liked the game being difficult in the way that you NEEDED to learn and become accustomed to the 'weird' traditions. it was very *fae* you know? I'm kind of disappointed in seeing those aspects kind of "dumbed down" or out right removed.

I was disappointed to see this gone in the update. It's definitely a loss as far as flavor/lore goes.

I don't care that they took away the bowl. I mean, before Big Build, all I had to do was drop a dandelion in there each day and move on. And even if it had stayed and dandelions were made to not be an option: Big whoop. Just hit up a random in-season fruit tree/bush or herb plant and you have an offering, because star rating didn't make a difference.

Here's what I am annoyed about: Pott is still around, and I don't get to smack him for his annoying snark whenever I accidentally click on him. Seriously, PixelCount has touted that they're primarily made of Fable veterans, and I can punch children in that game, so what gives? I mean, I could probably hit him with the slingshot, but that runs the risk of accidentally hitting one of my fruit plants on a non-optimal day or - worse-yet - one of my beloved animals.

I've generally had so much surplus inventory the Goddess offerings aren't an issue either; I pretty much always "just drop something in there and move on", especially now that the took away the multiple offerings/choice of Goddess. Obviously they aren't shy about majorly changing up game mechanics, so why not experiment with the Brownie too? Have him give some small benefits alongside/instead of penalties, make specific requests, don't allow repeat offerings during the week, etc.

You don't even have to do that anymore, as there're no longer any drawbacks to not making an offering. Honestly, I kinda wish that'd stayed, because it added a level of dystheism to the game.

I totally hadn't noticed that yet at the time I posted; I only found out after I accidentally missed an offering and was trying to figure out what my curse was. I'm torn about it, because yeah, goddess offerings were getting kinda rote, but now there's absolutely no point in making an offering at all if the benefit doesn't line up with (or the curse would actively hinder) what you're working on that week. And yeah, it's another thing lost that takes away from the little bits of unique flavor in the game.

I wish this game had "difficulty" settings, one of which would be whether or not there'd be consequences for not making an offering.
