Suggestion: Slow the time way down!
I bought your game on initial release and only today got around to playing around with it. I really like the direction it is heading. I played about the first 5 days.

My initial thought is that the days race by way too fast. The music, the art, the atmosphere all say relax and enjoy. The 5 minute day cycle has me frantically racing around. I am not enjoying that!

I am a kid now. Where is my free time to play, fish, make friends, and explore? I should get to be a kid. By the time I do the daily tasks it is midnight.

I think the day cycle should be at least 10x slower. For people who get bored with that, give them a stump to sit on an pass the time real quick.

A day should be around 12 minutes currently, not 5.
If it were 10 times slower it would mean 2 hours per day.
You do not need to rush, and the point is to make efficient use of your time.
We are also wanting this reaction...you are a kid...do you do your tasks and work hard or be free and play? When you get spare time, what do you do with it?
Additionally, as the game goes on, there will be more ways to be efficient (plus you do not pass out after the Prologue) and more temptations to help you cut corners.

Thanks for the response.

I was not using a stopwatch. Just going by general impression. The time goes too fast.

I know 'game days' are usually accelerated, but 1 minute = 2 hours, efficiently used or not, is just not fun. Not fun at all. It also does not match the activities you are doing in game.

Example: Real world walking to your neighborhood hardware store, buying a bucket and walking home, that might take you 1-2 hours. In the game it will take about 4 minutes, which in game time, is 8 hours!

Example 2: Tossing an apple to a pig. It only takes about 15 seconds. Except in game time that simple action just took 30 minutes of your day.

That being said, you have a lot of work to do in other areas and I suspect you have your mind set on this issue.

I look forward to mod support.

We need the whole game in, with all content before we can look at balancing the day length. It might be that we tweak it but as you say, post release mod support can accomodate those who want more time.
