How to find out missing properties of herbs?

I'm trying to create some medicine for my Apothecary, but some herbs are missing their properties and I have no idea how to unlock them. It doesn't matter if I feed it to my pig or my character (I can only temporarily see the effect above my character's/pig's head). It's not unlocking even if I have some proverbs for the particular herb.

Usually from notes scattered all around.
Befriending and gifting also gives you some information.
Then, you can get item from mr fairweather. it makes possible to check properties of an item once per 24h. (located in a shed behind your house.

I haven't found out enough either. I'm wondering how to find these out. I've been adventuring enough I should have unlocked so many by now. I keep getting the same ones over and over.

Keep giving gift to people, there is a chance that they'll give you info about items. Not only that, some mail that they give contain proverbs.

Shift+tab, open Web Page and google for that Wikiiiiiiiii, its been my best companion.

The Inspecting Gadget in a cellar is the item I'm looking for. Found out that gifting doesn't do much. Looks like I need to gather all available proverbs for the particular herb/fruit or veg (for example three proverbs for ginger) and then I get all the properties.

You don't HAVE to, they show up in your proverbs list anyways. ;)

There's a button for the wiki on the Esc pause menu, right hand side.
