How to get milk

I have to deliver milk to mother hubbart but I can't figure out how to get the milk from the cow. I have the tin bucket, but I don't know how to use it with the cow .

Just use the bucket while stood next to the cow, as though using a tool and a bar should fill up.

I have been repeatedly trying to milk the cow so I can bring milk to Mother Hubbard, but no matter what I try, it wont work. I have 2 tin buckets, and a glass bottle. I hold either of them and walk up to the cow. When I click on the cow, I just get the Pet, Feed and Exit dialog. No milking occurs

You need to hold down the use tool button near the cow. You don't click on the cow. You should see a white bar fill up (RMB)

I can't seem to collect milk for this quest either if I HOLD down the use key it says "Cannot Collect this" on the cow....

It's not enough to have the item equipped. Your character has to have the container in-hand. You'll see it floating just in front of them. Then approach the cow (doesn't even have to be your own cow, hehe) and hold RT/right click until the meter is filled. You can use either tin buckets or glass jars. There may even be more viable containers I have found yet.

I was having the same problem, but it does work, you have to use one of the triggers. Icant remember if it's right or left.

Just doesnt work all that happens is water pours endlessly. Cant progress while it wont work

right it does work i wasnt using the correct item i was using a watering can lol
