Usually, somewhere on the door should be the lever, it may look differently, but it should be there.
Some of the doors I have seen had a white covering over it. So you pull the lever and it opens the air lock (a metal grate one, not the 5 spikes like you can build) - and you can't get past is even though you can hear and see it opening. The white section can be grinded away with a T3 grinder.
If the issue is with the door itself, keep an eye out for messages on the left side. I saw it after struggling myself - "Can't reach" - you have to step closer to the airlock
As above - can you please provide us with the screenshot? I am not sure what you meant by "a white covering". From what I understood, you're unable to pass through it unless it will be grinded?
Thanks in advance.

It's not super obvious at first glance that there are two bases here, but the corridor & joint entrance from the small base to the right is overlapping the inner Iris Airlock from the Main HQ style base to the left. You can also see the Wells from one base intermingled with the containers of the other.
Again, not sure if this is related to any of the issues reported in this thread, just making it known that this is a thing that is a thing.
