1. Doing various actions gives you points, like grinding gives you materials, driling gives you mechanicals, those can be spent in tech tree to get blueprints.

2. You need to investigate ruins (nearest one should have a repairable ATV, but you will want to build new one eventually, it's faster) and find 'abandoned tablets' there. Right click the tablet->Use, it will give you research requvisites for some of the technologies. Ruins that still have tablets have a question mark near or over them, but there is always one tablet per ruin.

3. Containers specifically are very far in a tech tree and need a big crusher to build them plus rover's welder research. You best bet is 'cabinets' that can be built in workshop (for some reason they are in a botanical tech tree (first research) and listed in 'garage' section of blueprints.

The game is full of them, I have no problem getting them, Just follow/remember some things:
1) Be sure to switch in the options "show interactive elements -> always"
2) increase the slider "object detection range".
3) if you follow step 1-2, then when approaching an abandoned base, you may find that objects (including tablets / boards) have fallen under the textures, below ground level. in fact this happens to 50% of abandoned baaz when approached. DON'T WORRY, just save (for example via F5) next to such a base, and then load the game - with the same probability, items may return or fail again, if necessary, reload the game.

:CSAT: And remember that technologies are NOT tied to the tablet, you can save the game before reading, if this technology is not important to you now - load the save game, and with a high probability you will get another technology.
Good luck.

Mechanical = building or scrapping stuff
Material = mining
Electrical = solarpanels and wiring up.
Botanical = growing food, making seeds etc.

When you need the blueprint of an item to get that item, you need to find it in abandoned bases on a abandoned tablet. If you find one, pick it up, open your inventory, rightclick on it and select use.

I think you got the two mixed up.

Also, I sometimes get Mechanical (the brown) points while NOT mining at that time. I wonder where those come from?

You can get those by using compressor, by repairing boards and by assembling rocket A. I think charging rover and atv, upgrading tools gives a tiny bit as well, but not sure.

ok, thanks

By the way, advice, as it turned out, assembling missiles for anti-meteorite defense gives a quick skill leveling, for each assembled missile you get 15 technology points (I mean simple points, which you need 50-70). If I don’t confuse, a branch is pumped, which is also pumped during the extraction of stones, and it turns out faster than digging stones.

I don't think the suggestion given above are correct! You need tablets to unlock blueprints. You have to find these tablets in those empty habitats left my previous colonists. I am stuck because I have searched almost all the habitats and I can no longer find new blueprints. This game is so difficult that takes away all the fun! Has anyone managed to find the efficient photovoltaics blueprints to update the solar panels?

Ahh! So you just managed to find a WORKAROUND SOLUTION so it is not going to help gamers like me unless they look for this information on forums. So, your suggestions are still not going to fix the actual issue in the game. That's my point!

Thank you very much! Especially for point number 3 and the postscriptum, it helped a lot. For a long time I could not get the technology "Efficient photovoltaics".

I think the tablet drop is also buggy. Once, when I returned to a previously visited base to collect raw materials, there was a tablet, although I had not found it before. So I tried saving before discovering the nearest wreck. Well, my suspicions were confirmed. I couldn't find a tablet and I looked through all the interactive elements. However, after that I loaded the previous save and miraculously there was a tablet. So my suggestion is that if you discover a new wreck before you go in, save and if you don't have a tablet, load the save and go through it again

DEVS!!!! I think a found a BUG!!!!!!!!!

As it has been said before.... a lot of things fall through the floor and you don't see them or can't get to them.... Once you have the Level 3 Grinder and you can tear the building down, you will see how much stuff you missed from a previous pick up.
