Change the name to the LOBBY Building
This building is more of a STORE Room for Spare Parts of Space Suits and Boxes, and seeing it has attachments for Oxygen/Water and Power, why can't I put a Workshop bench in here, it could have more shelves with Spare Parts for the Rover or ATV .... BUT it is most definitely NOT a LOBBY ..... A LOBBY is what you find at the entrance to a Hotel, with Sofas, low tables, news paper racks etc. etc. It's a place where people relax.

The name of the building is lobby, becouse it was supposed tobe the first building after the airlocks. The content of it is not ready (as its EA, not all features are ready) - but you can see what we can do here in introbase. Its the same building where we talk with the governor for the first time.

I would leave it as it is.... just enable to install a workbench and lockers and call the building a Warehouse .... oh and tell the Governor to get an office to meet people. Just an Idea.

Well, he has one - its one of the quests later, when you meet him in his office. He is in lobby just to meet new members for the first time and from the dialogues you know that you (our martian) is an electrician and he desperately needs one.

Yeah I know... I was just kidding with you, but honestly that building would be good for a work area it has the atmosphere of being a workshop, where as the other building that you call a workshop is more of a Botanical area adapt to food growing. Again it's just my point of view, you ask for feed back I give you my opinion.

Is it possible to have the lobby as part of the airlock itself? I've not thought to try this when I rebuilt my base, but to have a single airlock door between the lobby and the base and then a single airlock to the outside. Would the game acknowledge this room as a viable airlock?

Also, when I rebuilt my base and took out my old lobby, there were the backpacks and more importantly the helmets left all over the place. I went to pick up the helmets and dispose of them which led to me removing my helmet and dying instantly.

So reloading and I pick up the helmets one by one then take them to the crusher. Some didn't make it in and are now hanging around on the crusher and I can't pick them up.

Any way to remove these objects? Even picking them up without wearing it immediately?

You are saying to have an Air lock at the entrance to the Lobby and one at the other end which would be the entrance to your base..... Does not make sense as your whole Lobby Building would have to Fill with Oxygen when you go in and would have to empty when going out... that would take a long time.... that's why you have 2 airlock's, as the space between them is small therefore Pressurizes or Depressurizes quickly with minimal loss of Oxygen (if any) Granted you do not feel the difference as you are already pressurized inside you Suit, and if this game would allow it, it would be possible once inside the base to remove your suit.
Take on Mars allows you to do this, in fact that's how you recharge your suit, and you can also take a shower so you smell nice for the Martian girls.

Yeah, I was thinking for style to have it depressurize the whole room. Just for something different. Though I am not sure how long the game would take to do that before the door opens.

If it was instant then it could be neat. If it takes longer than going through the double airlock then it's not really feasible.

I just didn't wanna grind down the lobby again to test it out because of the other issue I mentioned :)

Had the same problem, and made the same mistake with the Helmet..... BUT you do get a warning Not to do it... but I just went ahead and did it and died. I use the Canteen as a Workshop.... I have my 3D Printer, workbench and lots of space for lockers to store stuff, and the good thing is it has an outlet where I can stick my fingers in and recharge my suit .... There has to be a better way to recharge the Suit... instead of sticking your fingers in a HIGH VOLTAGE outlet. Come on Dev's a Suit Rack would be better than the Outlet.

Yep, exact thing. I even used the controls to put it in my inventory and not just pick it up. Well, died anyways.

I have the main HQ and a canteen, no workshop. It's not needed anymore.

The Workshop is more of a START Base Building .... it has plenty of room, controls for your Hydroponics, you can have a workbench, scrubber, 3D Printer, Food Production and a Bed all in the 1 building ... What I do, is leave 1 space empty so you can put up your Botanic workbench, do your research, take that table away, put up the electrical one do the same, till you have all your researches done... you don't need those tables there permanently.

I too did the helmet thing with the Lobby. Ground it down afterwards and now stuck with a bunch of O2 backpacks I can't do anything with. Also keeps me from building something on that spot again. Ah, the joys of EA!!! :)

The back packs you can pick up and drop them in the trashcan ... the helmet you can also pick up .... just don't press LeftCtrl when you do it... it will stay in your hand, then once inside the building you can throw it in the Trashcan also.

Well crap, didn't even think of that. But right now, way too far from a trashcan, but good to know. Have 9 of them floating around on the ground!! Maybe when they become useful I'll be "rich" with O2!!!!!
