Hand Holding +warnings !!
it tells me how to walk, talk, sit, and sleep...
it tells me when the weather changes, from what direction, when to take shelter...
it even tells me when to eat and drink, charge my suit and more...

it literally tells me that ive took my helmet off/on, but..............

for the love of gaming when it holds my hand to such a degree, why does it NOT tell me i have not got my helmet on before i open the door :steammocking:

2times in a row !!

I actually was in my rover and accidentally pressed E when i was facing the door with my helmet off and there's no computer voice saying, are you sure you would like to die in the next 5 seconds :O

It likes to surprise you.......:-)

funny because I did same thing with airlocks with helmet off but it didn't auto open, it might be the rover and manual doors will override this safety feature

Yeah, it's a good game moment when the door opens & you say "OH SH...!"

Automatic airlocks in the campaign (Alpha Base) won't let you go outside without a helmet - check near the area with Spotty. But rover handles are for manual override so your decision :)

The helmet part of the game is something you must remember on your own and frankly I llike it that way since it forces you to think. This style of gameplay exists in other games as well and none of them hand hold you on that point because you must always keep in mind the environment can kill you. Once you commit that to memory you will never forget your helmet again.

i dont mind it, it wasnt a rant about dying as such, as...

the point im making is the hand holding within the game is of such a degree its actually tedious borderline assuming every end user is so dumb they need to be taught how to use the WASD keys to walk around, yet !!

they say lets leave it possible to forget your helmet and open a door...

but apparently allowing you to...
forget to eat
drink
sleep
get caught in a storm
and so forth

.... is considered by comparison as just unacceptable.

@Stormfire962,

Thankfully, it only took me one lesson to learn that. :lunar2019crylaughingpig: [/quote]

And there is a reason the helmet borders being shown is on by default in the options, I learned not to disable it anymore :p

And the announcements and warning of the other parameters are nice to have, but would like that there is an option to disable them just like you can disable the helmet borders. And by that I mean even more specific by alarm like I still want the early warning of upcoming weather effects when I am outside so I can get to safety before it hits. But want to disable the sleep one for example.

Also an option to only get the warning only once per instance, so for instance with the sleep one just give it once it pop up and don't keep reminding me if I decide to ignore it.

I learned the helmet thing in 2 other games I play.

Stationeers which is fun and once I blowup my base by accident. The other game was Star Citizen which I still love to play and is getting better with each patch.

This is a thinking mans game. That's its draw for me. I like using my brain, and I hope they don't dumb it down.

This is what i like about the game too, and why i chose to start in freemode without doing the tutorial. Having said that, i'm probably guilty of asking a dumb question or two.
