How to start
It seems to me that many players have problems with the mechanics and are therefore frustrated. admittedly, the mechanics are extremely complex but once you get behind it is actually quite simple.

for one thing, no one is taken by the hand here. the tutorial was probably also not properly observed by many. admittedly, a tutorial could be better integrated into the story.

i'll write down my experience for the start. maybe it will help one or the other.

How To:

we land with our capsule and now?

- build a well
- builds a solar Panel

the well is able to supply itself during the day and produce water. in your capsule you can fill up your oxygen and charge your suit at the solar Panel (use the connector and hold LMB or E)

very nice the basic supply is secured isn't it? no food is missing so we will take care of that next. but how do i do that?

the keyword is techtree! we have to unlock the buildings and productions.

so how do i get XP for the techtree?

just do everything you do! the best way to start is to visit the old bases and disassemble everything you can (by the way, the cables on the ground are not decoration they can also be disassembled) this will give you points for the techtree in the area of energy and materials.

For the dismantling of stones you get xp in the area of energy and Mechanic.

In botany we have to start our food production to get points there.

once we have collected enough points, we can unlock the workshop, hydroponic shelf and incubator. if possible, we should also unlock the batteries and transformer as soon as possible.

now we build our workshop and equip it with the hydroponic shelf and the incubator. with this we are able to cultivate plants and harvest them.

So that our plants grow well we connect the well to our workshop and of course the electricity. keep in mind that especially in the beginning the resources must be kept in mind! At night there is no energy so we need a supply. Therefore, we use only a maximum of 50% of the produced resources for food cultivation.

congratulations now you have your first plants and can process them into food and seeds.

Since your basic supply should now be secured, we go on an exploration tour and look for more blueprints, collect more material and further expand the base.

I hope it helps some a little to get along at the beginning a little.

further hints

Connecting multiple wells:
to connect multiple wells a pump is needed. don't be confused by the connections you can connect all inputs to one well at a time.

Fountain expansion:
When expanding the wells (oxygen and methane), keep in mind that a storage tank must be connected and the water production will decrease. always keep an eye on the production.

Improve tools:
as soon as you have researched your tools, you can improve them at the workbench. to do this, drag your tool into the appropriate field and click "update".

expand battery storage:
you can add additional batteries to the battery this attachment can be repeated several times.

expansion of the transformer:
the extension can be repeated several times as with the batteries.

blueprints:
blueprints are obtained from abandoned tablets. if you don't like the blueprint you receive, you can save it beforehand and load it until you get the right one for you.

Weather events:
the weather events can be different when reloading the game and have different effects. especially if you lose a building and valuable resources at the beginning, it is worth reloading and hoping for a different outcome.

deleting items:
items can be disposed of in the recycler or in the trash can (i mean the trash can in the workshop). items placed in the trash can are irrevocably deleted.

Energy/Production management example (My current Mid Game):
Setup:
25 Solar Panel -> 1 Transformer (Full Upgraded) -> 3 Batteries (Full Upgraded) -> Base and production (Transformer)
7 normal Wells / 1 Upgraded Well / 1 Full upgraded Well -> 3 Pumps (water) / 1 pump (Oxygen) / 1 Pump (methan) -> 1 Pump (water) (3 Water Pummp to 1) -> large Storage (Oxygen/Methan/Water) --> Base(Water/Oxygen)

Configuration:
~600 KW -> 2 Batteries (300KW Input each Batterie) -> Base (Input ~150KW from each Batterie (150 KW each for charging only))
~280 KW -> 1 Batterie -> Transformer -> Wells (5 KW each non upgraded Well (7), 10 kW for Upgraded Well (1) and 15 KW for Full Upgraded Well (1))
12h recharge and 12h discharge --> 24/7 production

Income:
Water income: ~49 l/h
Oxygen income : ~4 l/h
Methan income : ~1 l/h
Energy Income: ~980 KW/h

this is a good one, I just still can't find info on different landing sites. Ah well, guess I'll start a few new games to check

:nogo: Best way is to not start the game. :nogo:
It's an early access game and already have "bundle".
Just go buy another game, a full game then after if creators got ideas how to make it better buy a bundle for it. Just don't buy an unfinished game with "bundle" on it.

thanks for your opinion. Please, let other people have fun. We are fixing the game as soon as we can. If you have feedback, please share.

the problem is at the start you cant dissassemble anything with the grider you start with. whats even the point in giving it to us

you can use it to destroy anything what is not a building eg crates, boxes, some scrap, ramps, furniture etc etc
level 2 can grind solars, and detached buildings like well
Why - becouse of balance. Nobody will use jackhammer if basic grinder can scrap everything and gives 10x resources. Also - becouse we want players to feel progress - their Martian works hard, unlocks new skills and possibilities etc etc

If you feel you dont like it - you can try tourist mode with possibility to unlock all tech at the beginning. Its close to creative mode. But we think you'll have a feeling of loosing some experience, that we wanted to offer our players.

Why can't we make our own Circuit boards? This seems like some sort of oversite. I have only found 1 medium board and 2 small ones. This stops progress since we cannot build certain things with out them. Or am I missing something?

I am wondering this too. I just went for a drive to a number of old bases and none of them had circuit boards. I must be overlooking something simple.

AGREED DEVS. Surely people can make up their own minds. Just need to research any game they want to buy. I still think however, that 2 hour refunds are a bit small for such difficult games. Maybe 3 or 4 hours and then surely nobody can scream that they did not have a fair chance with Early Access games. I am liking the game a lot so far. Finding out many issues are from my misunderstandings or inexperience. On Mars there would be no-one holding your hand and you would need to think outside the box yourself. Cheers all... stay happy. :steamhappy::steamhappy:

I bought the game yesterday and i'm really enjoying it so far. I didn't do the campaign or tutorial and just went straight into the freemode and am enjoying working it out as i go along. I think the developers have something good here and i'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
Hey Dev I want tell you that in Beta Version my Occupy Mars was working very lagging and very slow and it also take long time to load because of that lag I did not buy yet
