Best Starting Location?
Hi,

What is the best starting location that has alot of abandoned bases? I have noticed that some have way more than others. I am mostly just looking for circuit boards, I can't seem to find any large boards that I can start building my own base with.

While i think that finding the circuit boards is random, my preferred starting locations are the first two in the list. So the first one is Cerebus then the one underneath. The reason i like these two is that there is a large flat area for my base, plus lots of bases nearby.
Starting locations terrain is seeded randomly so the actual buildings you find are different each time. Personal fav for starting is Noctum Fossae (?). Close to the destroyed Alpha Base, wide open usually flat area for base expansion. Good exposure to sunlight for long charging days. But each time I've played it, the building spread has been vastly different.

Currently playing in Cerberus, which isn't too bad, but this seed hasn't got many buildings close. Having to go out camping to get anywhere.

Allways found the boards I need to build the workshop at the first base where the ATV is...thought it was a small circuit board. Weren't large ones used for garage (no use right now, bugged) and the large dome (no use unless you already have the infrastructure).
An if your 4h clocked gameplay time are correct, you surely have not looked enough around.

I tried starting at gusav crater and jezero; I travelled up to 35 Km away in search of premium seeds, got some but my inventory was overflowing with circuits boards of all sizes; far more than I can ever use; the floor of the rover was covered with them. All you need is to travel and search the various bases.

I love my Noctis Fossae, the one from the campaign. You get the broken ATV at the first base, which helps a lot early on

I even got a free rover there, right behind the landing pod

I think you get a free rover at higher starting resource levels maybe? I don't think it matters which place you start there.

I like Endeavour. Decent bit of flat land. Good chance of multiple water sources in range of an initial base.

You don't need Circuit Boards to build the Workshop, but you need one for each Battery and Transformer. So to get a GOOD start you need at least 2. You CAN make do with just one(for the Transformer) as long as you build the workshop and Workbench so that you can fix the one you removed from the ATV.
If you only find the broken one and a good one(there's always at least one in that base, so you have one to repair the ATV with) that should be enough to get you started.

The Workshop needs 10KW. Add one or two airlocks, at 2.5KW each, and you can run it with 3 Small Solar panels, if needed. You just can't do any planting or stuff like that in there.

Actually, you can enter the workshop through the airlocks even if they're unpowered, but I don't know if you can use the workbench, then. I assume not.

It's not a problem, it's a CHALLENGE!
