Possible to put bottles back into racks in the Rover?
Finally got what I needed to make a Heavy Rover (it was being uber-stingy with MCB's). Noticed that in the crane's tool cabinet on the exterior right, there was a rack underneath labelled "Oxygen Expansion" (I think that was the words) that had six slots and had two bottles in it. Is there a way in the game yet to slot additional filled canisters into that rack?

Mainly wanted to know because I pulled one OUT of it by accident- careless click when I wanted to close the cabinet- and I don't really need it in inventory since I already have one "backup" can and the two available ones in the locker inside.

Yes you should be able to put them back.
No there isn't currently any blueprints to print more.

And I advise you put the O2 bottles back, those 2 bottles it comes with is the O2 supply for the rover cabin, the 4 empty slots are the extensions.
That's my understanding of it anyway.

Well I can't put it back per se, since we don't have that ability yet. But luckily for me, I did not save the game in that state so I can just reload back ;)

Probably see that capability come in with the ability to make O2 and Water bottles when they make the Chemistry tree live. that's my guess anyhow, since I've already got one point in Chem from filling bottles at the Well console.

The oxygen expansion can be put back (outside) - I was not able to put the oxygen bottle back inside the rover. Please be aware that these are different kind of oxygen bottles. Not sure if the expansion works - when I remove the helmet inside the rover it immediately notes that oxygen is decreasing. Both bottle types can not be manufactured at the moment.

It would say Oxygen is decreasing because you are using up some of it. It's not really a "getting low" warning- just a periodic reminder that the supply IS finite, unless you've got it hooked up to a supply hose that's flowing enough to keep up. It's enough to last for at least a couple of 8-hour sleeps and 3-4 kilometers of driving at least, because I just finished a trip doing exactly that. ;)

These are different bottles.

Drag the oxygen expansion bottle in one of the hotkey slots. Then press the hotkey, and then click on the rover's bottle rack to place it back there.

You can find these extension bottles and also rover battery upgrades in abandonded bases, iirc.

I'll have to test later to confirm. Tried that when I did it by accident the first time, and it seemed to dump it into my inventory instead. It certainly wasn't back in the rack and I did see it anywhere on the ground, even with Z-scan a maximum range. *shrug* I may try it again during my next session, after making a JIC save of course. ;)

As for the bottles being different, again can't confirm. They LOOKED the same, aside from the fact that the ones in the extension racks had their valve ends pointed into the rack, while the "suit spares" in the equipment locker inside had the valve facing out. Haven't found any Rover parts in the wild yet either, but I'm only now getting ready to take a peek at what looks (on the map) like the remains of the campaign starting base.

Really ? How rare are they ?
Don't really know how many bases I have scavenged to dust (few dozens ? hundred ? ) but I never came around expansion bottles or battery upgrades.

From the outside of the Rover, near the cargeing ports there is a door, you need to insert the Rover Oxygen Tanks and Battery Extensions from that point. you can not do it from inside. you can not print additional tanks as of yet tho, no idea why as the assets are fully in game, you can even find and interact with them in Alpha Base during the start of the campaign. the option to print is listed in the big crusher, but it is greyed out even with all current tech unlocked

Based on the fact that filling water and oxygen tanks at a Well's control panel is granting experience in the Chemistry tree (I've already earned one point to spend) I'd say the recipes are locked because their unlocks are in the WIP Chemistry tech tree.

As for my own original issue with the Rover's O2 extension tanks, I was able to successfully remove and then replace a tank when I tested again last night. The first time around where it pulled me a regular )2 tank and stuck it in Inventory must have just been a glitch.

Also printed and installed one battery extension, just to make sure I could. ;)
I'd like to have a "Pressurize Cabin" setting (perhaps with a "Do not vent while I'm helmetless" option). I don't bother taking off my helmet for some short trips in the rover, so why waste oxygen?

I found a lot of bottles in abandoned bases, but none of them were usable. I really doubt that batteries and usable bottles can be found. Anyone else beside 🍔Klauß _fndrnk🍻: found usable rover extensions?

have not tried it in a rover, but the ins a base the iris airlocks do not seem to open when automatically when I am without a helmet. Not really the same, but I think if your helmet is off and you manually open an airlock ... you should die :D

I hope that they stop the "pressure is dropping" warning every 5 seconds. Basically it is not true. You breath air (with 21% oxygen content) and you breath out air with little less oxygen and sligthly more carbondioxide but the total amount of air/gas remains the same. The airpressure will remain the same. Unless the rover leaks or the body has a magical way of destroying air. It would be more logical if we had a warning when oxygen levels are dropping below 21%. Let's say alert when it drops belown 17%. That's the oxygen level approximately at an altitude 1200 meters above sealevel and we would still be able to function. And than an alert for every procent drop. If you are not a trained person you will get in trouble when it drops below 12%.

I wonder if you can make the rover, remove the bottles and destroy the rover in some way and make another and wow you have extra bottles of o2 and h2o

Those two bottles in the internal cabinet surely, but those two O2 bottles in the external I do not think that they would help at the moment. Display rigth now shows that both battery extensions and O2 extensions are installed.

Edith: Was able to add 4 battery extensions, but it did not change anything except that they are now in the rover.
