Dear Devs. Please explain to the person in charge of Jackhammer design, that the button you push is "ON" when pushed and "OFF" when released. When I push the button, it is a direct command to START. I'm not asking the jackhammer to evaluate whether to come on or not. I'm not asking it's opinion on whether to turn on, it is a direct command that if it does not comply with immediately, I will throw it's worthless POS shell off the nearest cliff and never look back.

If the jackhammer isn't drilling things when you press the mouse button, you probably aren't targeting anything. The hitboxes on stuff can be pretty wonky. Try getting closer to the rock, or aiming at a different part of it.

More to do with POS aiming engine (Grinders are worse) than the Jackhammer itself. Problem is that you get the target name and "durability" circle farther away than the tool can actually reach.

I've used a couple different models of jackhammer IRL before, and they had safety interlocks that prevented the thing from starting if the tip wasn't pushed against a surface- so it kinda simulates that same safety.

Thanks for your feedback. Its not a matter of realism but design of interaction system, which is similar for every tool.
You can switch off hold to use option in settings.
