Wells Running Dry
I have 2 wells and their outputs have both dropped from 6 to 4. Will they come back or continue decreasing? I may have to just ditch this base?

There's no need for frustration. Our goal is and always was - to develop this game together with the community. We thought it would be a cool and realistic mechanic that at some point they would dry out - but if players think otherwise - then we'll change it. We are doing updates quickly. If that's the will - they will be infinite.

Actually the mechanic of waterspots is even more complex as they also have an underground inflow of new water, so if you are not overusing your water spot with too many wells they may work as if they were infinite but if you extract water too fast you might run out after some (long) time, in the future updates we will probably disable the possibility to run out or add an option in the new game start to enable, we also plan to add water recycling technology in the chemistry tech tree.

If you are running oxygen on them as well it will drop to 4. Use a pump and attach both wells to via water if you want more water output. If you are also pulling methane it will go 2, 2, 2 for output and it also requires 5 energy per. So 10 if you are running two sources 15 if you are running 3.

water spots are not infinite - they will run out at some point, there should be some information about it on the spectral detector screen, we will try to expose it more
different water spots have different capacity, some will providing water for much longer time

So what Im doing is running 3 wells per work shop. 1 of them with all 3 sources, 1 with 2 sources and 1 purely water. So I have an output of 12L of Water, 4L of Oxygen, and 2L of Methane. Only issue is I have 2 pumps going cause pumps right now only have 3 connection slots.

Its really really slow then in the campaign then 30 days in and still having the same output of water. It does lower when adding more resources to it though.
I hope you have some that are nigh infinite, because people will want to make huge bases... No water supply will squash that creative dream.

Yeah I think some water spots should be infinite for that reason, that would be really nice.
Plus if there are only one or two spots like that, then you're restricted from building your Dream Base anywhere else... Something of which to be aware.

Another suggestion on this would be in advanced tree of some sort have us a way to recycle water so that it becomes infinite.

Ah man does that mean I may have to move my 27 wells with 9 pumps to 3 to 1 to a different location? I mean Im storing a lot of it so thats good but I dont want to move all my setup.

Yes unfortunately you have to keep bases small and keep moving. Specially on the harder difficulties. Its really annoying honestly that water isn't infinite. I just noticed it myself just starting up the game. But luckily the campaign starting location last a very long time.

I love Occupy Mars, and I foresaw me playing this for quite a time to come. But this, this right here is definitely a game killer for me. Maybe look at making this optionally infinite in 'Tourist' difficulty?

If I spend (real-time) days, weeks, months setting up my base to how I like it, then have to tear it all down to move to a new water location that's something I would not be prepared to do.

I wish this had been made clear before I made my purchase - I love building bases, I'm not about to tear it all down every now & again to rebuild elsewhere ad infinitum

Well I have a lot of water stored up and Im gonna now start a new system at a new water spot not too far from my base and run a water pipe, probably be 2000 water pipes and run it to my base. But eventually when all the water dries up ill have to start venturing out for my water, probably why you can transport a water tank on the rover.

There is just no mechanic that is actually implemented well in this game. Every single thing is made way harder than it should be to do and I don't mean in difficulty either, just in annoyance and time wasting. Just finding out that the water spots run out just tops it off. Let us try to enjoy the game maybe?

The problem with this is the randomness in the tablets.. I have over 32 days in game time and explored in a 4000 m2 area and 15 taablets. not a single rover blue print.
