Fixing broken circuit boards.
I really really like this mechanic, it is fun to do. but the camera needs work. I can't control what I'm looking at with the small screen, and when I try to place certain components they are out of view so I have to move the mouse around and click randomly until the component is placed...

You can zoom in and out and rotate the circuit board for better placement and view of solder points

Also time should stop while working on that. Because I may need to take break to drink and have to start from the beginning the whole process.

You need to filp the circuit upside down with Q to make it easy

did not know that was a thing, however I rotated it the spot I had to replace the component at was always out of scope for the camera.

you want to sodder them from the backside, not the component side. So flip back and forth. also a little see through component should be on the board when placing the new component. There are keys to move the magnifier and such also I believe. Look in controls. Personally, I think time should be slowed by 100% (day takes twice as long) and building, etc doubled to make up for it. Time just moves to fast in general.

I got with a path among the bad components , how do I fix a path fault?

It should show up as a red track on the circuit board. "Paint" the full length of it with the soldering iron.

Ah, Thanks, didn't see the broken trace on the first try. it was kinda hard to target it with the soldering iron but I got it done at least

A couple of things i've noticed is that the repair process can sometimes go a bit weird half way through, like for instance your hotair tool can disappear, or your circuit board can fall through the bench. Then there's things like components that don't show up to be soldered when you flip the board. Yesterday i found i couldn't pick up any new components from the spare components area. These all seem to be fixed by saving, then rebooting the game. Also there's an occasional issue with the circuit board either duplicating in your inventory or deleting another one you have in there. I avoid that one by never having extra boards in my inventory when repairing.
I have has some that bugged out where there was supposed to be a bad trace but it wasn't showing up on the board, top or bottom side.

I also had one where after completing all repairs on the board, after picking it up and looking in my inventory, it still showed as being damaged.

Another bug is that you can take a fully repaired board, put it on the table, and it will have issues to be fixed, lol. I am assuming that if you repair a board, even if its at 100 %, the game doesn't check its damage value and just randomly generates repairs that need to be made.

A few of your issues tend to happen when you don't fully repair, or fail repairing, and you go to repair again. Missing Path's to repair etc. It's almost like it remembers the old problems but generates new on the screen. Tends to make it harder on repairing but still possible.

As far as going back into inventory damaged I know at one point there was a bug that did similar but it was duplicating. You'd get both a new good board and maintain the damaged as well.

Right now in the test branch if a board is 100% it won't give you any repairs to do. Also the duplicating issue hasn't happened again to me after 20+ boards.

Also for those interested I decided to do a quick write up for a board repair guide since there wasn't any

I should clarify for anyone coming back to read this later, it only shows up red when you're holding the soldering iron. When fixing the trace (and working with the iron in general) it's very helpful to zoom in and to hold down the shift key to make movements smaller & more accurate. Shift key doesn't work unless you're zoomed in.
