Icons and their meaning

At the top of the screen are different icons from time to time. But I cannot find the exact meaning.
- The yellow power plug. What is the exact meaning and what is expected to do?
- The red crossed tools. Is there something that needs to be fixed? What is the exact meaning of it?
Is there any manual where the screen parts are explained? It is really annoying to trial and error to figure things out if there is the time passing by like crazy. It's absolute fun killer.
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It 's in the FAQ, I believe, available on your tablet. When they flash, they indicate getting points on that tech tree, and when they are solid, with a number, it means you've earned a tech point(levelled up in that tech tree, if you want) that can be used to unlock something.

Thanks for your answer! Unfortunately it's not in the FAQ. There is also the green icon for the plants. Sometimes this is there even my plants are not ripe yet. Maybe there is another meaning but who knows. I got already 7 point for electricity but I cannot use even only one of them. The blueprints are there but if I click on something no reaction.

Those in the upper left mean that you've gained Experience in the specific tech tree, it is easy to determine which tech tree by color, that is specifically for when you see the icon flash but not stay lit.
If an icon remains lit then you have a tech point in that tree that you can dedicate to new technologies based within that tree.
You'll notice there is a "bench" tech in each tree once you get there you have to build the bench and interact with it to dedicate points to any of the technologies beyond it.

Thank you very much for your info. There is a red chemical glas with bubbles shown. It stays there forever and I got no clue what it says. For other icons I can do my best guess but honestly I don't care anymore about those icons.
I mean its ridiculous from the devs to show icons and not telling what they say. It would be so easy to post it here. How long could it take to do so? And it would help so much to exactly know whats going on.

the information you are talking about is in the tutorial 0, at the beginning of the campaign. You are welcome
