now the main task of the game is to figure out how to do that ...
or you just consult the guide someone has already written, how to achieve the goal in the shortest way possible without a thought what this is all about
Seems like a glitch because when I played the game the first couple of times, this was not a problem.
If it is intentionally, it would be nice to speed this up..
i'd suggest, just relax :)
Honestly, if this was intentional it would be insulting, as if I would forget I want to keep going to the right every 10 seconds. Pointing out glitches is not meant as an attack to the developer.
Both edges of the screen have an invisible hitbox. If the mouse is in the left-edge hitbox, the camera is supposed to scroll left. If the mouse is in the right-edge hitbox, the camera should move right.
Occasionally, I will move my mouse to the edge of the screen, so it's not blocking my view of the game, and leave it there. It's a habit useful in workplace apps, but not in Sprout. When I do this, the game will just keep scrolling ... until I realize what I've done.
That may or may not be the source of the problem. I'll mess around and see if I can reproduce the issue. The camera should go all the way to the right during the intro sequence, but otherwise it should either follow the seed, or follow the mouse.
Thanks for playing! We'll do what we can to keep the game stable, as hardware and OS's evolve.
Have you had a chance to check for this problem? I tried it again today and am still seeing the issue. Not sure what kind of information about my setup or about the problem itself I can give you to make troubleshooting easier, but I'll subscribe to this discussion to try and be as helpful as possible
I'd really like to play this without this issue some day!
In all honesty, it's possible I'll be unable to address this issue. As an indie developer with limited access to test hardware, there will be some issues I may be unable to address. But I will do my best.
Sounds good! I've uploaded a small video showing the bug here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1cBpEbMA44
I made sure to include my mouse on the recording so you could see that it's not just me holding the mouse to the right and scrolling accidentally. I also tried hitting multiple keys on my keyboard to see if anything was weird there, but it didn't seem like this game has any keyboard support.
Added some general data of my setup to the video description, but it's also a Windows computer.
Let me know if I can help with any more information! And no worries if you cannot get it fixed. I'm also a developer (although not of videogames) so I know how card it can be to track down this kind of stuff and not having enough resources to do so
