It's a port not a remaster

Thank you for the post.

it's not a remaster lmao

It is a remaster. This is literally what a remaster is, all you are doing is cleaning up the original master. Ugh this is what happens when dumb ass gamers use terms that are for movies and music and try to apply them to games.

no difference except for resolution.

i, too, disagree with the usage of the word 'remaster' to refer to games, but in such context people clearly think it implies some graphical or gameplay updates to approximate the game to modern standards. i don't think this has happened here, it just has support for higher resolutions and a bloom filter, so it really seems pointless to me to make 'graphical comparsion' videos.

Remaster has diferent connotations for Console & PC users, since simply rendering the game at higher resolution isnt really enough for any PC user to call it a remaster.

With what was the video even done?
- Emulator? Then it's a worthless comparison
- Signal recorded from the original console? Was it done via Components or VGA Box? Because the game on the Dreamcast actually looks pretty close to this version (minus resolution of course) in 4:3 via VGA, just a bit more blurry because of the Sampling this version has.

Well, in a lot of cases the term remaster as a warning label applies to games just the same as it does in music. Music remasters are in 99% of all cases worthless crap and the same applies to games where the term was used, like the Bioshock remasters that are a buggy, unplayable mess or everything Nightdive Studios pukes out, where they just port something, usually ♥♥♥♥ something up (like removing the fog in Turko 1 & 2 without thinking as far that the AI never was programmed to see as far as the player now can, turning the whole thing into a joke) and so on.

Does this have the passport content?

Btw, it's not a remaster. It's a port. It only has increased resolution with a few new shaders. That's it. Textures need a high rez mod.

Man the dreamcast was such a beast

Not a remaster. It's that term being chucked around that has thrown people's expectations off.
Yes, it is a remaster. it's basically a clean up of the original.

People hear remaster, demand it to be a full remake, and then think they can just pretend that's what the word means.

FF3, FFIV, FF6, FF7, FF8 on steam are remasters. They actually had texture work done. Simply upping the rez is not remastering. You are wrong Truest Lord Pancake...
