Question: Semi-Idle? When/How/Where?

Hello,

just got this game on the sale and until now it's ultra chill and relax. A few clicks here and there, click create a few items and buy a rare/legendary unit here and there and that's it. Loving it so far.

But I wonder where the game is "semi-idle"?
When/How/Why do you idle in this game?

Since this game is based on time, do you ever run into "bad" effects of time?
This question is somewhat related to my main question. In most games like this you have some sort of payments to do after some amount of days, but since this is labeled as semi-idle I think this might not have any "bad" stuff happening by leaving the game idle, whyever you'd do this?

I think the best way to explain some of this is to give you a few examples, but you will learn pretty quickly by playing why it is described as such. You won't understand all of this but you will get the idea:

1) I am saving up Ash (end game currency of sorts) to upgrade a large quantity of Amulets, so before I go to bed I pick my farming team I've put together and go to a particular level I like for farming. I turn on Auto-Battle and Auto-Tactics after strategizing a good Auto-Tactic order, and start the level. Tomorrow morning I will wake up to check on my guys and see how much they have farmed.

2) If I accidentally leave Town Events running, but I'm not using Auto-Battle or Auto-Explore then I am spending resources without earning any. I can deplete my Gold and Practice Points if I do this for too long.

Is it possible to do these in "offline mode" meaning, while the game is closed ?

there is no offline progress, so you need to have the game open
