How do I get access to the Mystic Dungeon?

Ive completed normal and I have recieved the message about saving the land and moving onto hard mode or entering the Mystic Dungeon.. I have no idea how to get access to it the only imformation I have found is buying a key from a shop but I have checked both normal and hard modes shops and it is not there. What am I missing?

You buy keys from the shop to gain access once you hit hard mode.

I'm halfway thru hardmode and I have never seen keys for sale. X_X

I don't have any keys showing up in the shop.

Just go further with the quests. I think it opened up for me at the same time as the heresy quests appear.

I figured out a way but i'm not sure if it was a bug or not.

Upon starting hard mode it gave me the thug quest (yeah that end game normal quest we had just done recently) even though I was just starting hard mode which enabled level 1 and 2 of northern area.

After many failed attempts (they are lvl 94...), I finally cleared level 1, and it essentially unlocked the entire game. Store refilled w/ mystic dungeon keys and other items, pretty much all available levels unlocked, level 10 gear unlocked (which was my goal), and at the same time and heresy quests triggered.

I'm not totally sure anymore because I did the quest line at the same time, but it is possible that beating nothern area 1 or 2 was also the trigger for me to unlock the mystic dungeon.

I just did Northern1 (after setting up some t10 gear) and it unlocked everything. Thanks dudes!

Stuck here... normal is at max title.. difficult I've done northern up to 4 (next quest is at 10). Shop still doesn't sell keys on either normal or difficult.
