Title says it all. Is this, in its current state, better than the first game?

Hey! :) Just got this game and already got some questions concerning the controls.... If I press the key for "left" my char turns left but if I press the one called "right" the char moves right....is that intended? Another problem is that the game tells me almost always that there's a conflict between the key Ive chosen and another action which is already using it....but I cant see it. :( Merry Christmas ;)...

Hello, So, I have really bad eyesight. I need my games to be brighter than usual for me to actually be able to play them, otherwise I cannot see a thing. It's a legit accessibility issue that makes games (and many movies now) almost complete blackness. Is there a mod that can increase the brightness or gamma? Is there a way I can do it myself via some software thingy? I tried to look this up, but I haven't found anything I can do. P.S.
