With that said, this really isn't a farming game. This is a "go kill stuff and then farm a few sunflowers/roses/heartbeets as you need money and health" type game. None of the other crops are really relevant.
Once you play more you'll unlock a character that gives 50% more time.
The game is nearly perfectly balanced for what its meant to be, a fairly hard roguelike... the entire point is to force you to decide what to do with every precious millisecond. This is a matter of 'git gud' not "devs you have to change the game to play and beat itself for meeeee!!!!"
Then you should delete this thread and make a thread titled "I would like a creative mode please, where you can just play around with the seeds" because they cant change the game and just 'give you more time to farm' as that breaks the entire game. the game is already trending towards too easy, once you get the cornacopia upgrades and the thyme character you have a lot of time to get a large amount of resources and just breeze through the levels. Moral of the story, ask for a 'creative mode' or a wave based mode that only takes place on the farm and invloves planting and surviving waves or something, dont ask them to change mechanics crucial to game balance
Whoa! Watch out, we got a badass over here!
It's a huge disappointment. I know some people love the ADHD 1 or 2 minute run "roguelike", but I very much prefer Tales of Maj'Eyal or others where it takes longer to get wrecked and you have some sort of attainable progress... or something makes it feel like you did something and had fun trying, instead of just blah blah bland bland yawn ugh.
I want to like this game. The art style is fun, the controls are okay, the premise seems interesting, the execution seems like a failure to my limited play time perspective. Not a "bad game" per-se but I'm struggling to find what people like about it and draws them to play more. I'll give it a few more runs to see if it clicks, but I'm not holding my breath.
On every year, I have all of winter season to do nothing but farm. On years 1-5, I typically have all biomes cleared by the end of summer and have 6 full days to farm, plus the extra long day if I get that upgrade from the deervil.
After a recent play mainly playing in a Year 2 and 3 "bracket" Its a challenge to even farm Y3 with upwards to 4k-5k -at my current bonuses-. There is such a thirst to do well and unlock more stuff, but the combine new enemy health and making more cashews halted that for the play run.
So AtomiCrops excels at making you choose/focus down on stuff for the long haul of meta instead. Do I want to have more time to farm in the day, a little; at night, YOU BET - the only way I see is with more firepower, gourds, and passive buffs to get out of the fire.
Sure I want to be able to farm massively, and clear all 8 Tree Guardians, while nabbing max upgrades (in one run); yet that is going to come in time. The great thing about the game is that supports shifting to focus while you get to your ideal play. Its really a well made design choice, even though it makes multitasking arcade hard.
To OP: try to work up the suggestions above, clearly Y5 is dealmaker for making more play options available.
