Will there be Sequel / Content updates - to justify the hefty price tag?
The game looks gorgeous, but i'm kinda concerned about the pricing.

FAQ didn't mention anything for the future :c

I'm not hardcore adventure game fan and usually, if puzzles are made weird or too hard to tackle and slow down the story, i won't finish the game ...

Recently i finished monkey island 1 on Gog. And that difficulty was nice and the playtime / pricing was perfect i think? Even if the controlls are outdated for todays standards lmao....

About trüberbrook: People said the average playtime is 4-6 hours. That's kinda steep for 30 bucks.
But, if this is a new IP or series spending 30 bucks for the "main game" might be worth it, if there are further great worlds to explore, DLCs on a roadmap?

What do others think or know news?

This is a genuine question. So please don't hate on this thread? No i don't try to troll ...

Games like "Life is strange" are so popular and highly praised, because their developers how story driven games can be. Once u played through the story once ( same with horror games ) there never is a point to ever go back or replay the game. It is one time only game experience. This is why modern designers went with more incentives. Be it sequels, DLCs or season pass or however you want to call it. 30 bucks is indeed a high price point and i just tried to understand why they tagged it with such a big price.
Yes i'm not a hardcore adventure fan, but that doesn't make me blind to the market or "trends".
Old school monkey island could build a big fan audience, because they made many sequels 5-6 games i think? So even if original game was highly prices it made a great world and franchise. Likewise nowadays online or new IP can be justified to be highly priced ( to kickstart a new IP ) so i wouldn't mind if this trüberbrook genre might be a new IP and start a cool world and series of events. Then yes a high price can be justified to keep designers working and enlarging that vision and world. But if it's only a one time only project, not so much?

if you want dlcs take the big publisher games!!!
The irony in that comment is that the game itsself is actually already overpriced and if "free" or rather cheap DLC would be added it could give incentive to people on the fence and more casual players ...
Also whats wrong with longer and stronger replayability of adventures?
I mean horror games do this also, yes you can finish the story and be spoilered and never play it again, but then from design perspective it makes sense to add more chapter or later "sequel" or epilogues etc

I wouldn't ask for update or content, if the main game had a lengthy playtime or the price would been decent. But i guess that point flew over the trolls heads?

Ps: To all the hardcore fans, any of those retro adventures games or even tumbleweed park has more playtime for a more reasonable / decent pricing. So my point is justified ...
Imagine beeing a "newbie" in adventure genre than the reasonable choice would be to buy a full monkey island 1-3 package for less than 30 bucks and have adventure bliss, instead of investing in a short albait beautiful looking "newish" product. You get my point?

Pps2: Please guys stop trolling, my question is genuine ... I'm on the fence, but if i get just backlash and abusive comments i guess i'm the wrong audience and supposed to be alienated and not buy into the product? I guess no future adventures then? :/
And yes i don't mind to support early access or promising new developers, when they produce more for future ...

This was no troll answer and I totally get your point. I was very disappointed regarding the playtime and difficulty as well. All in all, I am totally on your side, that the price is way to high.
I would suggest games like Lamplight City, or Unavowed if you want a newer P&C Adventure and don't mind the Pixel Art. They are both from last year, not htat expensive and offer a lot more gameplay and story. Unforseen Incident has no Pixel Art and was pretty good as well, also from last year.
It is just, that ten years ago people used to rage if a game had dlc and nowadays people even ask for it. My ironic comment just put that up. No hate, no troll!

one dlc seems to be in the works, it seems not to be a story dlc. only a little extra.

I agree with you. I've been waiting for this game to come out for a few months and was very disappointed when I saw the price point. It's the company's decision to price their product where they want, but I honestly don't agree with the decision...as a long-time gamer and programmer. For 4-6 hours of content, $10.99 is more appropriate, and I'll be waiting for it to go on sale at that level before I buy.
