EMERGENCY 4 Deluxe

EM4 wont start
I installed it 1000 times. I fulfill the requirements well enough. I changed the screen resolution, but it starts, the screen remains black and then it closes.
The people I encountered and reported these problem did so many years ago... I thought that the game was incompatible for being so old, but apparently many people still play it without problems.

if anyone can help me with this i would really appreciate ^.^

I'm pretty sure this problem comes from changing the screen resolution, but I can't be too sure. I've never messed with it but I've heard of this happening.

Verify the game cache.
Also, the maximum resolution accepted is 1920x1080 I think

In a few threads, the developer has suggested to start the game as administrator by going into the game files and right-clicking EM4.exe.
Other users suggested to manually install Direct X9 on Windows 10.
For some, installing the K-Lite Codec Pack[www.codecguide.com] fixed all the start-up problems.

If none of these tips work out, you can email them your logfile.txt at support@world-of-emergency.com so they can look for the error.

<var name="r_xres" value="2560" /> <var name="r_yres" value="1440" />
2560x1440 is the highest you can go before elements of the UI go off-screen.

same here, but even by executing em4.exe as an admnistrator did not help, any more tips?

Did you go into the file properties of the config file and set it to "Read only"? If it's not set to that, it will overwrite the values.

Make sure to edit the config files to these values:

<var name="r_xres" value="2560" /> <var name="r_yres" value="1440" />

After that, set it to "Read only" by right-clicking it, selecting "Properties", and then check the "Read only" checkbox.

I can only think of one thing to say to you: thank you
I'll probably update this answer when I think of how to explain the rest.

Try the CODECs. It's most likely that.
