Best Lucia pairing?
Hello everyone, I was wondering who's the best character to pair with Lucia?
She's my favorite, but she has a really wonky support moveset and I'm not sure if there's anyone who can make the most out of her, she's paired with Sophie right now.
Any ideas?

I saw a JP video of Lucia being paired with Lydie, he did almost a million damage give or take (since he buffed and debuffed). Lucia was a support though so i dont think its exactly how you want her.

As much as I'd like to frontline her, it seems like a waste. She's probably going to stay as a support.

Most of Lucia's skills and follow-ups deal time cards. So she cannot deal much damage within a short time. What's more, damage of her skills and follow-ups and those time cards is not that nice.

But she is the third member who can use battle mix, triggered by stat-up effect in battle, such as ATK, DEF and SPD. The most amazing thing is that her battle mix even can be triigerred when her front member buff the monsters by some support items with buff traits.

So I recommend her stand in back row as a supporter to use battle mix.

Yeah but with whom? It's not just about putting her in the backline, but who has a moveset that can make the most out of hers. Battle mix is negligible since both Lydie and Suelle can do that to begin with.

I put her with Suelle. Alt takes quite the beating in front line so I had him pair with Lydie who kept him up even on very hard mode.

I paired her with either Firis or Sophie. They both use items that can trigger her supports.

One thing, her time skills may not be instantanious, but they are powerful. I used her for drawn out battles, mostly due to her insane MP regenration for a stupidly cheap cost (her front line partner uses a healing item. That it.) Her base level can restore 80 MP to everyone, front and back line.

Sue can't use healing items that I can see which is kind of a letdown when paired with Lucia

yeah this might be what I need to do, which is a bit sad cause Sue and Lucia have a combo attack when paired :(

The reason you don't put her with Sophie or Firis is due to Firis insane damage when paired with Sophie. A dimensional bomb from Sophie when paired with Firis when the boss is debuffed and you're buffed up and the have the star field map activated is how you can hit in the hundred thousands easy. Lucia doesn't fit in anywhere, and a lot of the JP players pair her with Illmeria. So for the time being, put her where ever because she unfortunately doesn't fit with anyone.

For partners, I found these combos work.

Suelle with Alt, a constant barrage of Physical and Magical attacks for reletively cheap cost. Every one of Lydie's skills will trigger Dwarf's Star Fantasy, meaning non stop damage. Suelle is very fast so this will happen a lot.

Matias with Lydie, since they play off eachother so well. Matias is a meat shield with great defence and good attacks, and Lydie ensures he stays alive and keeps fighting. When Matias uses any item available to him, it triggers Lydie's Battle Mix. A good combo.

Sophie and Firis are well balanced with each other, with firis in the offencive. One attack item that only firis can use is a magic tool, bomb and can be rigged to include fire damage. This means that if Firis uses it, Sophie will carpet bomb the enemy.

Lucia compliments Firis as a support, mainly due to Firis's HIDEOUS MP costs. Her cheapest skill costs 20 MP, so having a good MP restoring ally is essential for mobs.

Sophie in support does not work, and you can see why when you fight any of the post game or dlc bosses, as they're all mostly immune to her damage. Mathias only finds one use in the post game and that's in the NoA painting, with its boss as it seals item usage by whomever it attacks, so he can absorb all the hits and nothing bad happens. Alt's a good pairing with Mathias though, as their combo move can deal massive damage when setup properly. As it stands though, when Ill comes out, you won't use either of the boys, as they both have limited item usage and buffing capabilities.

I doubt that. Item usage is valuable, but takes up a fair amount of player time. In addition, cole is a lot harder to restock in this game, and when in comes to common enemies, Matias is capable os sweeping them with ease. None of the characters are bad, but they have their uses. The trick is to use items that reduces bosses resistances.

Weapon cores matter with both Alt and Suelle. Split and add elements have better chances with them, and that means more damage. Matias is a tank, plain and simple. Using him for damage is not recommended, but he serves a perfect defence, which is fitting for a knight. Alt is actually very powerful, but takes a bit to get used to. Sophie is actually very good in support during some bonus bosses, since her attacks happen rapidly, death of a thousand cuts over burst damage and it is possible to make enemies vulnerable to her attacks.

Also, the limited items thing could apply to Suelle, since she has no healing items usage at all. In the end, it matters you strategy. My style helped me beat bonus bosses with ease, and save money.

To each their own, but on very hard mode, and you can youtube countless videos, Sophie will be in the attacker position. A glaringly obvious reason for that is outside of Mathias, she has the highest defense. She has also has access to every single item type in the game. Sophie isn't really arguable slot wise.
