should i bring miners to red stars?
so yesterday i was doing a red star mission when the guy i was playing with brought a miner into the red star and started mining. i don't get why you would do this, does it mine faster in the red star or is there something else that it does? i'm confused

It is quite useful to bring your miners into a red star. Doing so would let you get more access to more hydrogen. For example, your star system ran out of hydro. When you send your miners with your other ships to a red star, you lose less hydro in your rs run.

In red stars you have to take artefacts on planets and then study them in your empire .Is it your question ?

once you have a miner with remote mining, and a strong enough boost/warp. You can sometimes make a net 0 or positive of hydro cost by mining in the RS.

If you are serious......Ofc you should take miners into a red star.
Why would you not?
What is better:
1. Dont take a miner and get zero fuel or
2. Take some miners and recoup some of the cost of entering the Red Star?

You can make a net positive on hydro if you get lucky but most of the time its to reduce the cost for example:
RS7 1200 to open it send in 2 transports to hold 4 artefacts x200 hydro and send in 3 battleships (Forgot the cost ut say 250 each)
Thats 2350 hydro just to send them in there and then the cost of moving them about, which depends on what your battleships have on them but you get the point. Its better to send in miner to get as much hydro as possible so the cost is not 5000 but maybe only 1000-2000.

its also essentially free H, as you're not mining your H in your home system. Also works really well in conjunction with boost, remote, H upload, and HBE.

One question what its the better set up for mining in red star, red star lvl and battle ship build?
Best set-up. Be a cheeker Fu%$^$ and do RS5 and above and send only miners and hope to steal everyones fuel.

But there is no fuel stealing in HS.
There is no name printed on an asteroids.
Best in public red stars is to get as much fuel as you can.

Well, yeah there are no names on them but It there is(or should be) an unwritten rule that if you clear a system you collect the fuel.
We all know what happens when you clear a sector and someone else sends their miners to it.
