Issues with the UI update
The, I'm going to call it the 'select action confirmation' bar that now takes up the entire screen width and blocks clicks through it.

I hate it. It looks pretty, but when I went to set up my warp lanes just now I clicked on a hub, clicked on link, and...the hub I wanted to link to was now behind that bar. Unclickable unless I moved my view around. Which, at my preferred overview zoom level, pushed a different warp hub off the top of my screen and a second hub under the bar.

Which, while it may be easy, it is not something I had to do before, and now I do, resulting in an experiencial downgrade.

I'm also not a fan of the production that's in the top left. While it is a nice shortcut, the fact that it exists between "my home star" and "every other star I have access to right now" feels wrong, especially since it has no text next to it (unlike every other button that is in this space). I would also hazard that if I had all three (blue, white, red stars) active at once that the third one of these would appear behind the chat tab. Not that this is a recommended state of affairs, but I did once do a red and blue star at the same time, as I had 3 battleships and commands in a redstar do have some time between meaningful actions.

Its just a potential concern that used to not exist and now does.

I'm not sure about the select action confirmation bar, mine doesn't take up the entire width of the screen. It sounds like a bug.

EDIT: Oh I see it now, you're talking about the action bar for things like selecting system view and pinging. Yeah that is annoying.

I can agree about the production button though. I don't find myself building enough to warrant a dedicated button.

Agreed. Especially when it notifies me every time my money goes from "less than some number" to "more than that number" because it means I met some threshold for building a thing. Maybe I don't want to build that thing right now.

Yeah it's insisting I research one of the many modules I've unlocked but right now I'm more interested in saving up for things I want and feel benefit me more such as battleship upgrades and transport cargo capacity.

I must say though, it's a minor complaint. I'm quite happy with the update as a whole.

As a whole, really good all around. Its just the UI that has been annoying to deal with.

As another point, the miner sector priority system is wonky. After a miner completes the assigned sectors, that selection remains but has no mechanical impact. If you don't reassign new priority sectors, the miner goes back to the old behavior (but will continuously display those priority sectors).

Either:
a) they are being used mechanically in which case its an awful mechanic if those sectors regenerate a single asteroid (miner takes priority over a sector that has 7 or 8 asteroids)
b) they aren't being used at all.

(A) is weird, because if you issue a move order to an asteroid, then set priority sectors that do not include the asteroid you sent the miner to, it will leave that sector for one of the priority ones.
(B) is weird because those sectors persist after they have ceased having a mechanical benefit.

I agree with the miner sector system. At first I thought it was nice because one of my miners has remote mining and it was annoying that while I slept it would mine sectors with 1 or 3 asteroids.

But now they don't mine at all if I don't specify sectors when I'm afk so my hydrogen income has dropped significantly.

I've been suspecting something like that for a while, but I haven't actually sat there and watched them. But I think you're right.

Well every time I log in since the update they are just sitting there docked at a planet even though there are asteroids available. I have to make sure to assign sectors to them now.

Thing is, I don't think it'll matter. You'll have to assign them sectors every time they run out of things to mine.

Issuing orders to miners with the new "set mining route" command do not use warp lanes in order to travel to their first location.

so the only workaround this is to keep upgrading the miners and cargo bay slots so you can increase mining sectors?

The number of mining sectors was already a thing. Nothing's changed in that regard.
