Drake of the 99 Dragons

Drake of the 99 Dragons

Modern resolutions, controller support?
I’m basic, anyone been able to run the game at 1080p or 4k(Black bars or not) via an ini or got a controller working given it doesn’t support the steam overlay so you can’t configure it with the steam api?

My Xbox One controller worked just by default, and could rebound in the controls menu. Don't know about other controllers, but you could always configure it outside the game to read as one.

As for the resolution, I haven't figured that out yet.

I figured out controller support but have the smarter people figured out resolutions beyond 1024×768?

Just for the idiots in the audience, can you please explain how you got the controller to work? The mouse and keyboard setup is terrible for early missions.

If you go to steam settings and then the controller tab you can set up controller support via big picture mode for PS4, Xbox , and generic controllers. When in-game hit the middle button, controller configuration option and for this game the keyboard and mouse setting. Seems to work perfectly with default settings but I only played the first level so there might be functions you have to map.

Steam basically has a built in xpadder or joy 2 key equivalent now.

Pahh, if it's just a mouse and keyboard emulation via the controller, I'd rather use mouse and keyboard. You see, on Xbox the camera controls and aim were completely independent, so you could conceivably look ahead, while Drake would automatically dispatch enemies in the 360 degree range around him. This was super useful throughout most of the game, as you would only need to mash the fire buttons without worrying to aim (though, admittedly it was less useful when Drake stubbornly chose to target an enemy three rooms and several walls away while another one was right in front of him, shooting him in the face).

Yeah it’s emulation only as far as I could tell with the controllers I tried and not native support, never played the original so I can’t compare honestly.

The WSGF entry has some weird unclear instructions for a widescreen hack.
I think it wants you to edit Drake.exe (or whatever the actual ingame executable is called) in an hex editor while it's being executed somehow...?

Haven't tried it because I am having trouble getting the game to keep settings and save data at all. Honestly feeling like it isn't worth the hassle.

I've recently uploaded my bindings for everyone to use, I'm using a PS4 controller so you will have to press Y to see bindings for other controller types in the community bindings.

I've tried to replicated the controls on the original xbox version using knowledge from ProJared's video on Drake, he states basically the entire control scheme.

Feel free to edit my bindings as you see fit.
