Using this without a camera
just curious. is it posible to use this without a tracked camera? where you can control the virtual camera you are capturing in the game and just get footage of the game with the avatar? installed the drivers for the virtual camera controller but it says refer to the guide for setting it up and i cant find anything mentioned anywhere about it.

I was looking into this also and had a try about 20 minutes ago. Didn’t go according to plan.
It kinda works in Audioshield but the way Audioshield codes it with the 4 screens there is no way to just make the controller-cam the main screen!

I’m with you in this being cool too

Our avatar tech isn't released yet - so right now you'll not get very far without a camera I'm afraid!

You could technically use a tracker and move around the space to capture with, and/or create a single static virtual angle. Also, as Ruu has stated, the rest of the avatar tech is being actively worked on, thanks for your patience and we would still love your feedback in our discord! http://liv.chat

got it working so the game actually shows up on the liv screen, although cant change the fov, and it just matches the headset. how exactly am i supposed to calibrate the virtual controller?

Would have to adjust the FOV in the CFG file, to be honest the application in our current state isn't really designed for this, so it's somewhat uncharted waters. Although we would be happy to talk to you about it in our discord! Come to http://liv.chat! :)

but is it designed too when its finished? the video shows shots from very far away and high up. like several shots in fruit ninja, audioshield, and hollowpoint. as though its not tracking a real camera, its a virtual camera and theres just e vr avatar in the shot. thats all i really want to be able to do. my room would be too small to do any decent camera angles with really even if i was able to green screen and light 3/4 of the room.

will try out the discord at some point. but it just sounds like you guys havent put in the features i was expecting it to have yet

That's going to be a later release, our initial release was expedited because people really wanted the mixed reality part of it out. In our discord we demo everything and provide all the latest info. :)
