Distorted audio

I just started the game up, and the audio is behaving really weirdly. I checked audio on other applications, and it seems to just be World seeker. It sounds crackly and hard to hear properly. Anyone know a solution?

I saw that turning off V-sync fixes it, but I feel like that's not a good solution since it just makes the screen tear now. I haven't kept playing much, so idk if it really fixed it. But it did work for the like half hour extra I played.
