"Minimum" is the minimum the game should run on at all.
Because "Recommended is the minimum" kinda does not make any sense.
Or maybe gamers these days just having such low standards lol.
It's true, it does not make sense if you leave out the "Best".
- AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX @ 3.30GHz
- 16GB RAM
- Windows 11 64-bit
- Nvidia RTX 3080 16GB VRAM
Thoughts appreciated :)
My MacBook Pro (2019) System Information says I've got:
Chipset Model: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655
Type: GPU
Bus: Built-In
VRAM (Dynamic, Max): 1536 MB
Vendor: Intel
So, how do they compare? Am I okay as far as graphics are concerned?
[later]
everymac.com says "This model has an Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 graphics processor that shares memory with the system."
That sounds like it might be bad news.
On the other hand, I have no interest in VR, so maybe it will still run (at all).
In reality, the game is going to perform and look just fine on a machine with 16GB (in fact, we support playing Firmament even on M1 Macbook Airs with 8GB RAM), but knowing how our fans usually have high expectations for what their machines are capable of, we wanted to set the mark for a guaranteed visually good and fast-loading experience on Windows, especially considering the number of configuration options out there for the platform and our need to support folks who want to play in VR as well.
Thanks for the thoughts and info! I might be able to upgrade my RAM, but my other concern is my laptop's CPU. Should I be concerned/worried about that? Further thoughts appreciated :)
I copied this from one of the creators over at Kickstarter. Take a look at what they posted. Halloween Jack posted this same thing up above. On Macbooks. 8 gigs is fine. Your CPU. I dont know. Maybe someone can jump in here and answer that.
Firmament is a visually demanding game. We want to make sure that folks know going in what specs we recommend to enable them to play the game at higher settings by default (and at a high framerate) at higher resolutions or in VR.

logically it will play satisfactorily and with what weak systems my system is Ryzen 5 2400G > GTX 1050 ti >RAM 16 GB
NOTE: not in my possession VR
