I learned that you can still trigger her location based voice lines after restarting the game, loading your save game and use the safe location function from the options menu (which should be on the top level of the pause menu, considering how important it is in the game's current state). That seems to reset all her triggers. I guess those lines that were event based are lost for me though.
I played through 95% of the game without narration and it didn't affect my ability to problem solve or immerse myself in the environments until the very end when I was supposed to ride an elevator in the Swan, and the elevator wouldn't operate, so I had to close the game and relaunch it (which caused the narrator to return for the final leg of the journey within the final destination realm). While I'm speaking from a position of not knowing what was said, the stuff I did listen to made me feel my experience interpreting the storytelling via the clues scattered throughout the environment was more interesting; I wouldn't have appreciated anything trying to act as a guide through what I was witnessing.
It's unfortunate, unlike previous Cyan titles, that there are very few books and stuff to read. So I guess the narration would be like an audio-book version of previous books without the ability to skim.
I'm only mostly joking. She's said like five things to me in the entire game so far, none of it made much sense, especially when she congratulated me for raising my first spire -- that was actually my second.
