I understand.
This feature is on the top of the list of a good majority of the combat flight sim consumers. I find it really unacceptable to not even attempt it at all, and just concoct excuses as to why they do not. (and Im not talking about IL-2 COD's developers really but the market as a whole)
And this is why many old flight and ground combat sims are still played today, long after modern games are forgotten about. I hope Microprose delivers soon on this (recent Combat Air Patrol 2 -acquisition) and also Helicopter Gunship DEX, because these games with linear campaigns either collect dust on my shelf or are not purchased at all.
This game would benefit from this feature and I do not mean some 3rd party program that runs outside of the game. A good majority or equal number of players do not fly in MP either.
I would love to keep this game installed on my PC because I have COD and the Africa add on but it only goes so far with its linear game play and I end up going back to more enjoyable simulations.
It can be found on the official forums, in the CloD Single Player section.
As much as I agree with what you said. No, they will not "profit" off of a small market that desires the perfect dynamic campaign. Falcon has the best Dynamic campaign to this day and look at how small that player base. There is no demand in this market for someone to dedicate their money and time into making such product to satisfy a niche.
For now, best case is to rely on modders or learn to make one yourself. Don't count on any established studio on making a dynamic campaign of the likes of falcon etc.
