What is the Difference between Cliffs of Dover & Cliffs of Dover Blitz Edition?

I have bought both games and am a very casual collector more that a full on player. I noticed that I had to fix the old Dover with a Win 8 exe for my Win 10. What is the difference between the two games? Both work.

doesnt blitz have the beuafighter, new variants of the 110 also, diff specs for the 110s too..a little faster

In my experience Blitz is more stable plus is an honest effort to fix a very broken game by Teamfusion. The original developer and the original game is a screwed up fraud, and someone should be doing time for it. No one should be selling products like this on the market, ever.

Teamfusion's effort makes the game playable, but the sad truth is there is not much game here.

Steam is Selling Cliff's of Dover and Cliff's of Dover BLITZ. I bought Dover and had to self fix with some forum thing when I started yrs later. Are you saying BLITZ is the SAME GAME basically as old Cliffs of Dover I had to patch with an exe and that Old Cliffs is a waste of time as BLITZ is same but more. ARE YOU SAYING THAT?

current servers are using blitz. if u had the old version blitz was free just an update.

As you put it, Blitz is same but more. More stable, more aircraft. Plus all future development will only apply to the Blitz version.

In short, you have both versions but should stick with Blitz.

Hey sry guys.. I was thinking I bought Blitz for $50 or something as a supporter of Flight Sims I tend to just buy on impulse and get back to it later .....but I feared I had bought the same game which just fixed up the .exe and groomed a bit ....after I already got it working with a patch Win 8 exe some years ago.

I checked my transaction history by clicking on my logined in name in upper right (Searched it .. never knew ha ha) and found I only paid $20 for original and no Blitz purchase showing... so all good. I think it looks good. Great in my Arcade Collection of Fine Gaming Art!

I bought CLoD a few years ago, and found Blitz added to my library when it was released. Iit still has many flaws, but doesn't need the manually-installed Team Fusion mod patches and TF are now sanctioned by 1C (original dev.) to continue working on the game. IMO the non-Blitz version sale page should be taken down and only Blitz should be available to avoid confusion.

Blitz makes CLoD into no-longer-abandoned-ware, but CloD (original) as is being sold on its own store page is essentially abandoned-ware as all new patches and fixes will only apply to Blitz as Steam updates and said future updates will no longer be available as manually-installable mods.
(Believe it or not, that's not a run-on sentence. LOL)

It's confusing, I know, but I hope this helps make a bit more sense of it.

Well yeah. Steam should only sell Blitz ...who reads only good on XP etc. LAX and LAZY!

I like the game a lot ..pretty well done ..but not a nerd pro and will never fully finish. Have to assign all Axes and Keys on my Hotas Cougar one by one ..and very confusing setups there in words used for this and that. Anyway ... kicks to fly it!

Sadly, confusing and laborious keys/axis mapping is a hallmark of every major IL2 title. We've all had to tough it out in our own personal respective nerd hell(s). It's kind of like some sort of rite of passage. Something that must be done alone with little-to-no help, but once completed, the world is yours!

My English teacher hated my guts. I would have liked to have met your Spanish teacher though! Lol
