Otherwise they will skid sideways and shooting will be difficult.
You can turn down the difficulty settings and avoid this problem if you want.
There are also other sections where you can remove limitations on ammunition, etc.
Not sure if you are using rudder pedals or what.
Just a thought.
Right click on the Windows icon in the lower left. Type into the search box: "Control Panel"
The go to "Hardware and Sound" and click on "View Devices and Printers".
Now right click on your joystick, and select "Game Controller Settings"
Then select "Properties"
Click on the "Settings" tab, then on 'Calibrate'.
Follow the directions and click 'Finish' and then 'Apply'.

Now exit and start your game.
Go to Options, then Controls.
Go to Category 'Aircraft', and select 'Axes'.
Then select the control surface you want to program. In this case Ailerons.
Right click on the Command Box and then move your joystick to the left. The game will recognize the axes.
Below you will see Sensitivity and Deadzone settings as well as 'In' and 'Out' showing where the joystick reads.
All this is in the "Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide" which is in the main IL-2 folder on your computer in the 'Manuals' folder.
After going round and round on this topic for over a year, I'm pretty sure the issue is that the box to disable torque effects isn't actually functional. Maybe a previous patch "un-fixed" this box.
And before others chime in about trim: I understand trim and use it regularly. :-) The problem is, the majority of the planes in the game don't have aileron trim. For example, the Tiger Moth and Hurricane have only elevator trim. The Spitfire has elevator and (I think) rudder trim. So you can't trim yourself out of the constant right roll.
I fly mine hands off with no problem.
..
If you load 75% fuel, you get 75% fuel, (about 70 gallons), with the main tanks full. 66 gal, and a small drop in the reserve tank. Wing drop is very small.
I use rudder trim to clear any sideslip.
..
In the case of the Spitfire and Hurricane, the roll to the right is corrected by using Rudder Trim... not aileron trim. (which doesn't exist on the two aircraft)
Remember that default trim is set by the manufacturer for cruise conditions in level flight... not full throttle or maximum rpm.
That means typically for the types running 100 octane fuel, the aircraft is at 2750 rpm and +6 boost.
if you are running other than those settings, you will need to adjust your trim. If you are in a high speed dive or a low speed climb, you will need to adjust your trim.
