im gonna buy thrustmaster hotas x tomorrow but how should i set it up i know nothing about flight sims but i really like to get into this

Map the important controls you'll need besides control, like throttle, prop pitch, and radiator. Also gun trigger and bomb drop. There are a lot of people with that stick, so you may luck out finding a profile here:

Yeah, if you're good at the X360 already, it really wouldn't be that bad. If you don't mind mapping engine controls on your keyboard it'd be fine.

First of all set up your basic controls pitch yaw guns throttl and brakes set up a mission to test your set up exit the einsant action and finetun with the dead zones rice and repeat until you get the feeling and responce you wan't in the game

@Doggystyler, copy/paste the contents into notepad and save as X360.ini file (name doesn't matter really) in C:\Users\"Your Computer"\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

Then open the file in your controls menu and apply.

Shucks man. To get your defaults back, load confuser.ini from your controls menu.
If you somehow overwrote it, you can delete it (make a backup), and run steam's file integrity check for Blitz. It should redownload the file again.
*edit: Just updated the guide for using a blank file to set things up. Had fun flying SP Beaufighter mission using those bindings.

You toss it aside and get an X56 or at the very least some other decent cheap hotas like a thrusmaster afterbuner II . :) I can't even picture the horror of flying on a gamepad. You'll get creamed in any dogfight by the majority who use proper sim controls.
