My grandmother was a very religious person. She was an absolute saint and devoted her life to God. She lived very poor, so when I turned 14 years old all she could gift me was 40 cents. Being young and stupid, I acted very disrespectfully towards her after receiving my present. I didn't realize until much later in my life that she had given me all of her life savings. Later that year, she died of heart failure. Me and my father buried her in a field, for we couldn't afford a proper funeral. Nobody would have come anyway, as my grandmother had already lost all the friends she had.

I kept those 40 cents for the next 12 years of my life. It was not only a memento of my grandma's legacy, but also a reminder to what it really means to be a kind person.
2 years ago I got married to a woman who I really believed to be the love of my life. She was someone I only wanted to best for and made sure to show the same love and kindness to every day that my grandmother showed me. I quit my job to move in with her in a Los Angeles apartment. She was everything I needed in my life... but I meant nothing to her. 2 weeks after the move I caught her cheating on me with her ex. I was devastated. I couldn't think straight. I only a few of my belongings and ran.

Then there I was, on the rough, cold streets of Los Angeles. All I had on me was a backpack, 2 cigarettes, my busted old HP laptop and those same 40 cents. I was cold. I was alone. I was in a dark place and I needed to find a light to guide me.
Then I saw it: Piggy Poggy Pog, on sale on Steam for 0,39 cents. When I saw that pig carrying those two acorns it reminded me of my grandma's loving embrace. This had to be a sign from a higher power... or from my grandmother herself... I bought the game and booted it up.



Beat the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing in only 12 minutes. Turns out it was a bunch of reskinned template levels from some game development program. Didn't even have any sound effects.

Piggy Poggy Pog is a turning point in history for video games. I am very humbled to be in this position to be reviewing one of the most greatest generation defining games out released in 2017. Piggy Poggy Pog takes you through a journey from heaven to hell controlling a pig who is named "Poggy" where you will witness the suffering of the protagonist Poggy in his self secluded journey to earn his respect from his wife "Pogchamp". There is lots of subtle humor the basic human being (or "simpleton") will not understand due to how simply complex the humor is and how much thought was put into it by the indie developers behind this hidden gem. One of my favorite parts of Piggy Poggy Pog is the soundtrack, the game has a total of one hundred and seventy two songs which will be played at random according to the theme of the level. The soundtrack rivals such legends Koji Kondo and Jesper Kyd, and the beautiful sound design fits perfectly with the music. The gameplay on the other hand is phenomenal. The movement is almost perfected, besides for one flaw in which Piggy Poggy Pog isn't allowed to ground pound. The movement is like a beautiful crossover of Titanfall 2 and Mirror's Edge, taking notes from what made those two games great and combining them into one package. Now for difficulty, that's for another time, the game features selectable difficulties that range from easy to Dark Souls. Piggy Poggy Pog is such a great title for Steam to be hosting on it's digital storefront, and I don't want to reveal much more because it's a great game that I wish I can experience for the first time ever again.

This is, in my opinion at least, the single greatest video game ever created. From the moment that I first stepped foot into the Piggy Pog Universe, I found myself immersed in a microcosm of wonder. The title of the game - 'Piggy Poggy Pog' - is in fact a reference to the Greek philosopher Plato, who himself said that "To Piggy is to Pog, but to Pog is not to Piggy". I truly feel that after completing this game, which in and of itself is a gruelling challenge to say the least, a sense of accomplishment on a level which I have not bared witness to in my 39 years of existence. This game presents a message not just about our lovable protagonist Piggy Poggy Pog, but society at large. I would recommend this game to anybody, regardless of age or ability. Truly a masterpiece.

Stockholm syndrome is a condition in which hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during captivity.[1] Emotional bonds may be formed between captors and captives, during intimate time together, but these are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims. Stockholm syndrome has never been included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM, the standard tool for diagnostic of psychiatric illnesses and disorders, mainly due to the lack of a consistent body of academic research.[2][3][4] The syndrome is extremely rare as noted by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's Hostage Barricade Database System and Law Enforcement Bulletin estimating that fewer than 5% of kidnapping victims show evidence of Stockholm syndrome.[5]

This term was first used by the media in 1973 when four hostages were taken during a bank robbery in Stockholm, Sweden. The hostages defended their captors after being released and would not agree to testify in court against them.[2] It was noted that in this case, however, the police were perceived to have acted with little care for the hostages' safety,[6] providing an alternative reason for their unwillingness to testify. Stockholm syndrome is paradoxical because the sympathetic sentiments that captives feel towards their captors are the opposite of the fear and disdain which an onlooker might feel towards the captors.

There are four key components that characterize Stockholm syndrome:

- A hostage's development of positive feelings towards the captor
- No previous relationship between hostage and captor
- A refusal by hostages to cooperate with police forces and other government authorities (unless the captors themselves happen to be members of police forces or government authorities).
- A hostage's belief in the humanity of the captor because they cease to perceive the captor as a threat when the victim holds the same values as the aggressor[7]

Stockholm syndrome is a "contested illness" due to doubt about the legitimacy of the condition.[2] It has also come to describe the reactions of some abuse victims beyond the context of kidnappings or hostage-taking. Actions and attitudes similar to those suffering from Stockholm syndrome have also been found in victims of sexual abuse, human trafficking, terror, and political and religious oppression.[2]

‘Perfect’ is a word I use a lot when I think and talk about Piggy Poggy Pog. I adore this game, but there are other games with more flaws that I love more than this one. But I genuinely couldn’t find a flaw in PPP. It’s quite clear about what it is, and what it wants to do, and then executes it perfectly. Level 12 was no exception. It was elegiac without being bleak, and hopeful and optimistic without being naïve, a tone that turned out to be extremely apt for this year. I must admit that I was initially disappointed, because I had been expecting a longer, more conclusive ending, but not long after that, I realized just how much sense this kind of ending made for the series. Piggy Poggy Pog is a special work of fiction that deserves a wider audience than it has, but I’m glad it got the ending it deserved.

One day, while coming back onto VC in my local friend's discord call, I was humbled by this popup of a very generous friend gifting me this during the steam winter sale 2020. The game only took me 7 minutes to beat, but every second of it was pure bliss, I only wish I could have played this slower to truly enjoy this Aristotle of gaming. Thank you Joe Biden for this wonderful gift, I hope someone else could enjoy this as much as I did.
