Due Process

Blue screen of death?
I played this for nearly 5 hours straight with a ton of friends last night with no issues. Today I've tried multiple times to launch the game and every single time I'm met with a full-stop, hard-crash, blue screen of death. I've verified game files and tried reinstalling and nothing works.

That's strange. Do you have any Windows crash logs? My immediate reaction is to try to verify the game files but I don't know if that will actually help.

What Windows version and update number are you on?

The game likes to run with an uncapped fps unless I enable V-sync. I solved this by using my GPU's software to keep the fps low. What's your GPU? If throttling the amount of power the game uses solves the problem then it's possible this is an issue with your computer. That's speculation though.

I am running this on Windows 10 and I believe it's Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1706). I have tried booting the game up after enabling v-sync and it gave me the BSOD once again. This time I have opened the windows crash logs and I think the error for the BSOD due to launching the game is this:
"The RasMan service depends on the SstpSvc service which failed to start because of the following error: The operation completed successfully."
I am not entirely sure what any of this means, but there's all the info I have.

Aw man. I don't know what that means. I'm running Windows 10 21H1 too. I have an AMD GPU and used Radeon Chill to limit the FPS to 64. I'm confused by how you enabled v-sync before starting the game up.

I'm trying to think of something but I don't have any good ideas right now. Does any other came cause this BSOD?

I don't know where the save game data for Due Process is stored but it's likely local to your computer. (Thankfully it's only win/loss records and outfits.) If you do a reinstall then you might want to back up some files. Steam cloud might save it too.

Yeah I'm using an NVIDIA 2060. In the NVIDIA Control Panel you can set specific settings for games, one of which is perma-enabling things like v-sync. I flipped that to On and tried to the game to no avail.
I've posted this to reddit and someone replied with unplugging my controller and then trying, but I had a controller plugged in last night when I played and it had no problems. I would try this, but I can't imagine continuously causing my PC to BSOD is very good for it. I've already done it four times trying to fix this.

one time i had a game crashing up on me. later i figure that it was the driver acting up and updating it seems to fix it. maybe try that if you havent got the latest driver update. if still doesnt work, maybe try asking on the discord server. higher chance of the dev saw that and maybe they could help
