Why does the sun explode? Why does the universe die suddenly?
I've beaten the game, but I have some questions.

So, when you reach the Sun Station, you discover that it was built with the intention of blowing up the sun in order to generate enough power to send information 22 minutes back in time. But, it failed. The computers inside the Sun Station say that the Sun has reached the end of its natural life cycle and will explode very soon. But shouldn't a star's life cycle take millions of years? If it's not the Sun Station, what is making the Sun explode? And what is making all the other stars explode at the same time as well? Is it the Eye?

Some liberty is taken with how quickly the sun collapses but it is exactly what the game tells you, this was it's natural life end. Same for all of the others, it's more or less the heat death of the universe, this is it running out of steam and coming to an end before it collapses and starts over

You can read some variance into it, technically also any stars you see winking out would be long gone by the time you see them, and our sun is one of the last to go

It states in the sun station as well that the last input command was 281,000 years ago.
