Is there a way to reset the DLC progress without also resetting the whole game?
I’ve been stuck in the DLC for 2+ years because I’m simply way too much of a chicken. A certain part of the game ticked off all the horror game boxes that make me unable to progress any further.

Right now my long distance boyfriend is visiting and we thought, maybe with him here we could actually play through the DLC, since he’d be able to play the scary part for me. He already played through the base game and was waiting for me to finish the DLC before starting on it himself, because it’s fun for me to watch him figure the game out. Obviously that never happened.

But since I already started on the DLC, in order for him to play it without spoilers and a clean ship log, I’d have to restart it… but is that possible without having to restart the whole base game? Losing all the ship logs would be such a hassle. We'd have to go through the whole game again just to unlock all of those and only then get to the DLC. We don't have this much time in our hands before he leaves, I'm afraid.

There's no way to reset just the DLC progress.

However, there's an option to "switch profiles" in the main menu, each profile is a different save file.
If you use this, you could make a fresh save while keeping the old one,
play the DLC using the fresh save until you get past the point that stopped you, then switch back to the old file that has all the ship log entries.

(Side note : i'm not entirely sure what stopped you from continuing to play, but maybe the "reduced frights" option could help? It only says that it makes things easier, but it also makes things less scary in addition to that. I never tried it, so i'm not sure what parts are made less scary, but a pretty big factor to my being scared is significantly reduced by the option.)

You'd lose all of the log. However, I should mention that there is a way to completely avoid the scary parts of the DLC. Its all about *when* you enter certain areas.

Nah, Reduced Frights didn't help. I'm simply too sensitive to horror elements and the whole atmosphere of those sections alone was already too intense for me. I get anxiety attacks and all ¬¬.

I understand. I hope the multiple profile thing can help you!
(I also remembered that there's the option of downloading a base game 100% save file, but i have no idea where to find one.)
